No Mate desktop?

Hi, I have just succesfully installed x2go 4.0.1.19, both server and client are Debian Linux machines. According to the documentation Mate (which I run on server) is fully supported, however the drop-down field Session Type on client has no Mate entry. How can choose it? Thanks, Tad

Graphical apps stalling in suspended session

We ran into an odd issue recently that feels like a bug, but I wanted to throw it out to the community to see if anyone else has seen this or has any ideas. When we run a graphical app in xfce via X2Go and then suspend the session, the app continues to run, but significantly slower than if we remain connected. If we resume the session while the app is still running, it resumes its normal speed. This issue seems identical to bug 673 (<http://bugs.x2go.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=673>), but this was closed because it was not reproducible. The simplest way I found to reproduce this is to have gnuplot plot in a loop, so it takes a while. If I use this input file: do for [a=1:200] { plot sin(x+a) } It runs in a reasonable amount of time while logged into an xfce x2go session: $ time gnuplot plot.txt real 0m6.059s user 0m1.348s sys 0m0.124s If I use a sleep first and suspend so gnuplot runs in the suspended session, it takes much longer: $ sleep 5; time gnuplot plot.txt real 2m24.365s user 0m1.516s sys 0m0.176s Another way to reproduce is to run glxgears and then suspend and resume. You’ll see that while suspended, the frame rate is significantly lower, but then resumes normal speed when the session is resumed. Here are the particulars of the server: OS: Xubuntu 14.04.3 (built this to test - we’re primarily seeing this on our Ubuntu 14.04.3 systems with xfce) x2goagent: 2:3.5.0.32-0~668~ubuntu14.04.1 x2goserver: 4.0.1.19-0~1064~ubuntu14.04.1 x2goserver-extensions: 4.0.1.19-0~1064~ubuntu14.04.1 x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.19-0~1064~ubuntu14.04.1 Thanks for any help you can provide. X2Go Centos 6 BROKEN

I have a number of CentOS 6 boxes still in service. Today one ate a disk so I re-installed it. But the X2Go RPM on ElRepo does not work, it's missing a bunch of things that are neither present in the CentOS repository or the ElRepo repository. Even if I chase them down with rpm.pbone.net and install the missing components it still doesn't work. Client folder sharing not working with Windows x2go client

I have checked the forum for similar threads, and applied the solutions given there, but it does not solve my problem. *The Problem: * I installed x2go server on a Ubuntu 14.04 VM running in XenServer 6.2. Using LXDE desktop, installed LXDE desktop bindings. Using regular Windows x2go client from Windows XP. No problem to create a session and run it. Added a shared folder for c:\Documents and Settings\Admin. The shared folder does not appear in the x2go session. On the server, using "df -h" to display the various disks gives the message: df: '/tmp/.x2go-sysadmin/spool/C-sysadmin-50-1439738979_stDLXDE_dp16': Transport endpoint is not connected sysadmin is the user name on the Linux Ubuntu 14.04 server used to log in to the session. It is the default user of that installation, no other user created. Curiously, when I re-issue the "df" command in the session a few times, the above error does not show again. It only shows the first time, and only if I do not use use sudo to issue the command. On earlier attempts, the path was different and contained "cygwin" somewhere in the middle of the path. But there was also no folder to connect to. *What I Tried: * Client and server can ping each other. I can log in with putty (SSH) to the server. Therefore, basic communications seem to be allright. Tried to disable strict host key checking on the server in the ssh config file. No result. Uninstalled desktop binding package and re-installed it a few times. No difference. I also installed MATE desktop, and installed XFCE. Same result. I understand that XFCE has no desktop binding package (if that package really has anything to do with that). At least, it did get the exact same error. At this point, I would need advice what I can check further, or what logs I can look into, as I do not know what to look for. ML Peter

Any pointers for a PPA or other method of installing X2Go server on Mint Mate 17.2? We have been using x2go fairly successful on CentOS6 machines now for a while. We are investigating upgrading to CentOS7 and I am now looking at the x2go situation We get our x2go RPMS from EPEL x2goagent-3.5.0.31-1.el7.x86_64 x2goclient-4.0.3.1-1.el7.x86_64 x2goserver-4.0.1.19-3.el7.x86_64 x2godesktopsharing-3.1.1.1-1.el7.x86_64 So far we have not discovered 1) doesn't work at all with GNOME desktop giving the "Oops" screen. Web search seems to imply this is a known issue with GNOME3 with no real solution though I am suprised this is not mentioned in the X2Go wiki FAQ. I hate GNOME3 anyway so can live without it for X2Go 2) works partially with the KDE desktop. There is the kscreen issue that is mentioned in the FAQ. Really unusable unless one does disable kscreen. Need to investigate further what consequences that has on normal logins. 3) installed MATE from EPEL. On first login it looks and works great but when you "Logout ..." to terminate the session it just hangs on a blank background. If you "suspend" the session via force closing the window and then try to reconnect it fails or just takes you right back to the blank background. One can force terminate the session with x2goterminate-session to clear it out and then get a clean login again, but I don't really want my users having to go though this. So my question is really about the MATE issue which I would prefer to use. Shutdown selectable but gladly not work

Hi, I could select shutdown or restart if I logged off in a xfce4 or kde session (maybee additional in other DEs). I reconize, that formerly the only choise was loggoff in former x2go sessions. Is this an x2go setting? bye, Gregor
