Hi all, on request of the Ubuntu MATE team I have enabled automatic builds for X2Go packages for Ubuntu 15.10. Builds are pending and should appear during the day. Run x2goDesktopSharing as service

Hi, I'm a new user. I'm under Ubuntu 12.04 with gnome-shell and I have installed x2goclient. With the update I have now 'X2Go Client v. 4.0.5.0 (Qt - 4.8.1)' One another computer I have installed x2goserver and x2goDesktopSharing Is-it possible to launch x2goDesktopSharing as a service when launching the system (same as x2goserver), to be able to disconnect of the user and reconnect to another. For now, disconnecting (:0) kills the nx connexion. I have other troubles, but I will open a new thread. x2goclient connection fails with 'setterm: $TERM is not defined'

Hi x2go users, After recent update to x2goclient 4.0.5.0-2.fc22 I'm unable to connect to my x2go server. Error message: Connection failed. setterm: $TERM is not defined. Steps to reproduce: 1. Upgrade x2goclient to 4.0.5.0-2.fc22 2. Just try to connect to x2go server When I downgrade back to 4.0.3.2-1.fc22 everything is fine. Any ideas? I thought about opening a defect, but maybe it's something wrong with the setup of my server? 1. The client machine's OS: Fedora 22 x86_64 2. The client machine's version of X2GoClient: 4.0.5.0-2.fc22 3. The server's OS: Arch Linux 4. The server's version of the x2goserver package: 4.0.1.19-2 5. The server's version of the x2goserver-xsession package: No such package installed or found in repos 6. The server's version of the nxagent package: 3.5.0.32-1 7. The server's version of any other relevant packages: None 8. Disabling sound

Hello, Setup: RHEL 7 server with x2goserver 4.0.1.19-3.el7. The server's syslog is receiving heaps of messages like this: Aug 26 20:38:03 servername pulseaudio[11023]: [pulseaudio] main.c: User- configured server at localhost:30004, refusing to start/autospawn There's no need to support audio in this setup. Session type: Connect to local desktop -- issues with scaling

Dear all, at first the situation I encounter: The X2Go server is: a computer with two screens: - operating system: Fedora 22 x86_64 - big screen (22" widescreen): 1680x1050 px - small screen (19"): 1280x1024 px - software: * X2Go server 4.0.1.19-3.fc22 * "KDE Plasma Workspaces" aka KDE5 aka KF5 The X2Go client is: a notebook (Apple MacBook) with the following specifications: - built-in screen: 1440x900 px - operating system: Mac OS X 10.8.5 - software: * XQuartz 2.7.7 * X2Go client 4.0.5.0 The X2Go client software is configured like this: - Session -- Session type: Connect to local desktop - Connection -- Connection speed: ADSL - Connection -- Compression: 4k-png - Input/Output -- Display: custom: 1440x874 Now the problems: If height of screen resolution on X2Go server session is '>= 874 px' you have to maximize window of X2Go client to see. That scales the content of X2Go window and text cannot be read. That can be tested with: 1. log in to X2Go server using above configuration - enable big screen - or use maximum resolution of small screen 2. reconnect with X2Go client to X2Go server If height of screen resolution on X2Go server session is '< 874 px' everything is fine. That means: 1. log in to X2Go server using above configuration 2. disable big screen 3. set resolution of small screen to 1156x856 px 4. reconnect with X2Go client to X2Go server However, the reduced resolution has the drawback of limited overview. The use case is: resuming local session with X2Go. All that is required to reproduce the problem is: - a big screen on the X2Go server that you connect to from an X2Go client that has a screen with smaller screen resolution - the session type must be 'Connect to local desktop' If a native X2Go session (f.e. session type: XFCE) is used this problem does not occur. This does not resume the local session, though. My failed attempts to solve the issues: I tried many different settings in X2Go Client to no avail. I read the documentation and found: http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:faq:start#ubuntu_s_and_fedora_s_kde_won_t… which does not make a difference to me. Furthermore, I found: http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:advanced:nx-keyboard-shortcuts ... List of possible ''action'' attributes left up right down which should move the viewport, according to: /etc/x2go/keystrokes.cfg on the X2Go server. I could not get that working on Mac OS X. Even with simplified shortcuts, like F7. I modified the keyboard shortcuts and restart the X2Go server to no avail. There is no other keystrokes.cfg file used. Has someone used the 'move viewport' functionality on Mac OS X? Am I doing something wrong? Shall I file a bug report? The problem is reproducable on 'Mac OS X 10.10' with a screen resolution of 1280x800 px. I tried to reproduce the problem on the same notebook with Windows 7 32 bit. A native X2Go session with XFCE session type works flawlessly. No issues with X2Go client window scaling. However, upon connecting to the X2Go server (KF5 as well as XFCE session) with session type 'Connect to local desktop' an error message appears: VcXsrv windows xserver (X2Go/Arctica Builds) --- VcXsrv windows xserver (X2Go/Arctica Builds) has stopped working Windows can check online for a solution to the problem. Broker with multiple hosts on different ports

Greetings, I am setting up x2gobroker with multiple backends, and while I can change the port that they all use for ssh, I would need to set a different port per host to NAT them to the same public IP . Is there any way to do this at present ? where can I look for documentation? -dan

Questions regarding mate/video quailty

Hi everyone, I have following szenario: - server: Fedora 22 with gnome 3.16 (and mate) - client cubietruck (mini client like raspberry) - connected via 1Gb-LAN-cable - using LAN quality and no compression (but I also tried 16MB-jpg with no difference) 1) As I read in the docu, gnome 3.12+ is not supported, are there any plans in the near future? 2) After installing mate on the server, I didn't see an option "mate" on the client (4.0.1), only gnome, kde, lxde, xfce, so I choose "other desktop" (don't know if it's called exactly so, cause I have a german interface) and mate-session as parameter. Is this the correct way to use mate? 3) And this is my main point: Working seems to be fine so far, but when I start a video in mate (over x2go) it opens "parole media player" (seems to use gstreamer) and it says: "gstreamer backend error - Configured videosink video is not working". If I start videos with vlc they come up but are really slow und showing only each 5 seconds or so. If I use nomachine v4 they are not as fluent as if I sit in front of my "server", but at least they are acceptable. I don't have the gstreamer problems there. Is there something I can configure, does someone know this problem? videos I tested with are h.264 encoded if that matters. Thanks in advance, Harald

Problems with x2go

Hi, I'm a long-time VNC user trying out x2go after many people have recommended it, but I can't get it to work well when trying to set up x2go-sessions from Windows, so if anyone can help me out, I'd be grateful. Issue 1: First I tried "X2Go Client" and that one just keeps crashing on me. I only need to enter the "session preferences" dialog and as soon as I press ok (independent if I change anything or not), the program crashes and Windows tells me "x2goclient.exe has stopped working". Similar crash if I try to start a session. This with X2Go Client v. 4.0.5.0 (Qt - 4.8.6) on Windows 7. I tried an older version 4.0.2.x which did not crash so there seems to be something off with the most recent version. Known issue? Issue 2: So I installed PyHoCa-GUI instead. That one is stable and mostly works. But when I choose "custom command" as the session, it refuses to run any command with an absolute path and only accepts things in places like /usr/bin/. Perhaps it is some path-issue, but it also does not accept things in /home/myname/bin/, which is in my $PATH from the shell. Note: I'm using zsh as my login shell. Is this a bug or am I not supposed to be able to run things with absolute paths? (note: I have double-checked file permissions and the things I'm pointing to under /home are +rw for everyone). I don't want to have to put my session script in /usr/bin/ Question 1: No matter if I use the "X2Go client" or "PyHoCa-GUI", I don't get the keyboard behavior I would like. Using VNC, it will just map each keypress from Windows and pass those symbols into the server, which is important since I use a custom keyboard definition. That doesn't seem to work with x2go as I get pc104/us both if I tell it to "do not set" or "automatically detect". And if I choose "use custom keyboard", I can only select a "standard" keymap, I have no idea how to tell it to use a custom keymap. Is it so that x2go can't handle user-defined keymaps and only handles standard keymaps? Question 2: Font handling. I don't get the same set of fonts when I run through x2go as I get when using VNC as some directories are missing from the font path. Trying to manually add those from inside the x2go session ("xset +fp /some/path/that/works/in/vnc/") gives an error. Is there something special with the font handling in x2go that is not compatible with all X11 fonts? Running the same xset command from inside VNC succeeds without problem on the same machine. Hi dears, I'm new to XGO TCE and following this tutorial http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:advanced:tce:install and everything works fine from the installation of the X2GO server and X2GO PXE server to the boot process of the thine clients BUT after the thine client boots its asks for a username and password. I'm NOT using LDAP for authenticating the thine clients so i tried to create a session for the thine client by editing the file " x2gothinclient_sessions " BUT i do NOT know which parameter i need to change to set the username and password for the thine client authentication and how to associate this configuration with the client MAC address ? so can someone explain that please....Thanks in advance...
