Unable to start firefox docker inside x2go

Hello, Since version 4.1 I'm unable to start a docker inside x2go which uses X. (Ubuntu 16.04 x64 x2goserver from ppa In the past, I edited /usr/bin/x2gostartagent and removed the "-nolisten tcp" part, and edited /etc/x2go/x2goagent.options to remove "-nolisten tcp" It's not working, even a simple xeyes docker fails to open display: vdheuvel@arthur:/data/home/vdheuvel$ docker run --rm -it --net=host -e DISPLAY -v $HOME/.Xauthority:/root/.Xauthority fr3nd/xeyes No protocol specified Error: Can't open display: :50.0 From my laptop it works without problems. hi Mihai and other x2go users, I am wondering if you have any further comments or suggestions, I am still unable to connect to more than half of my servers. Best Linux Distro for x2go server sessions as of April 2018?

Guys, So what's the best linux distro to run x2go on these days, in terms of the server, the system you connect to? Which would people recommend? RHEL 7.x is out, as are probably a bunch of the newer Gnome 3 desktops. Does anything running MATE work well? Running Debian 9.3 with lxde seems to work pretty well, using client 4.1.1.1 to connect. But at my $WORK, where we're mostly RHEL/CentOS based, it looks like sticking with CentOS 6.9 is the best solution currently. Which kinda stinks. Does Fedora work better or at least just as well when running the Mate desktop? John

Problem with X2Go 4.0.1.22-2 on Centos 7.3

We are having trouble getting our X2Go client on Windows to connect to our Linux server. The Linux server is running Centos 7.3 and these RPMs: [root@hre-rsgpul01 admin-rmoye]# rpm -qa |grep -i x2go x2goserver-xsession-4.0.1.22-2.el7.x86_64 x2goagent-3.5.0.33-4.el7.x86_64 x2goserver-4.0.1.22-2.el7.x86_64 The X2Go client is 4.1.1.1 on Windows. When we login to the server, the X2Go window appears as if the Linux desktop is about to appear and then the session is terminated. The only thing I see that is noteworthy in /var/log/messages on the server is: /usr/bin/x2goruncommand: dbus wrapper not available This error does NOT appear on servers where we are able to connect successfully. However, those servers are running an older version of X2Go server. I have not been able to find any explanation for what this error means or how to avoid it. We have tried running different window managers like XFCE and GNOME and all produce the same result. Can anyone shed any light on this? Folks: I've switched my desktop and server to Freebsd. And am looking for an x2go like experience. I see that the x2go client is in ports/pkgs but the x2go server is not. Seems like an incomplete match if you ask me. This setup will allow me to control my work machines from home, but not allow me to control my home machines from work. vnc tunneled over vpn/ssh is rather slow and awkward in some cases. Suggestions welcome.

X2Go crashes when I run Thunderbird

Dear all, Lately whenever I try to run Thunderbird through X2Go, the session suddenly closes. The session doesn't get suspended, since when I reconnect I need to create a new session rather than resuming the old one. I assume that the server is crashing or otherwise failing, since the client remains open. Any idea what the problem is or how I can go about diagnosing this? I'm running x2goclient 4.1.0.0 on openSUSE Leap 42.3 and x2goserver 4.0.1.20 on openSUSE Tumbleweed. X2Go Client suddenly failing to connect

Dear all, I have been using X2Go client in the current environment for quite a while now without issues. Seemingly all of sudden today an outage happened where X2Go will no longer launch any applications. The connection seems to succeed in the backend: [cid:image001.png@01D3C558.EB0F51C0] However, the client closes the connection before anything happens. Running the client with the debug terminal shows these messages: [cid:image002.png@01D3C559.58693F10] I've validated that I can SSH to the server using other tools and start the X11 applications from command line directly. Any guidance or pointers to figure out why X2Go stopped working would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Ivan G.
