using a xfce compositor with x2go server/client

I've just installed x2go server on a new desktop running linux mint 19 xfce. (My client is on Ubuntu 14.04.) I was disappointed to find that the xfce doesn't work with this setup. Have I done something wrong? Are there any other ways that I can get a compositor to work with x2go?

Looking for a Swedish Translator for X2Go Components

Hi Our current active Swedish translator stepped down recently. On behalf of the project, I am looking for someone to replace him and continue the well-maintained Swedish translations. If you are interested to help, please subscribe to the i18n mailing list[0]. More information regarding the translation process can be found on the i18n wiki page[1]. Note that most projects also have a README.i18n file in the source code repository, detailing how translations are done. Since we already have Swedish translations, all steps for adding a new translation can be skipped. Hello everyone and a big up from Paris. Someone has already managed to run the x2goplugin plugin? I block to: cp /usr/share/x2go/plugin/x2goplugin.html /usr/share/x2go/plugin/x2goplugin.html.orig I can not find the file after installation of apache. And even if I decide to create it, it does not work. Thank you for your help

MATE screensaver is not activated when connected via x2go

Hello all, I am working with a fresh X2Go install based on Debian 9. I recently discovered that the MATE screensaver is not activated when connected through X2Go. When I connect to the server locally, it works fine. Any suggestions? Kind regards, Jens

Keyboard doesn't work from Mac OSX to Scientific Linux 7 x2go server

The keyboard is unusable when launching XFCE on SL7.4 via X2Go from OS X. icewm-session works fine on SL7, and XFCE works fine on SL6. We've tried different versions of the Agent with no change... -- James Pulver CLASSE Computer Group Cornell University

Hi! I wanted to run the x2go client from the command line to display the "username" and "password" fields only, like it happens when using pyHoca-GUI. The problem is that whenever my users hit the "CANCEL" button they always see the list of available sessions at the right of the window, which I wanted to avoid. I've tried a command line such as: x2goclient.exe --no-session-edit --disable-pulse --session=MYSESSION --close-disconnect --hide-foldersharing --no-autoresume --no-menu I don't want to use the pyHoca-GUI because it's too slow to start (at least in our environment) Thanks, alaxa

Me too, the docs seem to mention vnc (which is a bit slower), but can it work on x2go? Accelerated graphics on headless server

Hi I'm sure this question has been asked many many times before, but I was hoping one of you could quickly point me in the right direction. I have a headless server, and I'm trying to write a file /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/xxx.conf, but this doesn't seem to be having any effect. stale dated gnupg key

Greetings I had successfully installed, and have been using x2go for some time (useful software when one has a number of computers to run!). Wanted to install x2goserver on another machine and was running into a number of issues. I believe I have been able to unravel the problem enough to find at least one of the roots of not being able to install even when following the steps published in the wiki. My install was failing when I tried to install the apt-key and by lots of poking and some sideways thinking I have found the issue. Looking in the system where x2go is working happily in /etc/apt/trusted/gpg I find that the key is liked with the following information: pub rsa2048 2011-03-10 [SC] 972F D88F A0BA FB57 8D04 76DF E1F9 5838 5BFE 2B6E uid [ unknown] X2go Debian/Ubuntu Packaging <debian(a)x2go.org> sub rsa2048 2011-03-10 [E] what is interesting is that of the 12 keys listed (likely not that many compared to possibilities) the x2go key is only rsa2048 which might be sufficient but its also listed as 2011-03-10 [E] which I interpret to mean that the key was generated on the date 2011-03-10 but I'm thinking the [E] means that its expired. As renewing the key is not something that I can do as a user I am requesting that someone with the capabilities of modifying the code might please renew and/or refresh the gnupg key and also inform users of the new key (I am assuming that the key would change with renewal/update). Given the rights to do so I would be more than happy to modify the wiki to reflect that new apt-key code.
