Failed to start X2Go Agent Session

Hello After some user's session got broken due to a client/server incompatibility, the user deleted all their session data and then told me they can not log in at all anymore. At first I could not see any problem (everything worked as expected for me), but when I deleted my own /tmp/.x2go-danielk directory, I started having the exact same problem. The error I get is: Agent output: "Failed to start X2Go Agent session with ID danielk-50-1539704304_stRTERMINAL_dp24. X2Go Agent terminated unexpectedly. Aborting session startup. The complete relevant last part of the debug log is pasted below. The session.log for this session contains the error Error: Aborting session with 'Unable to open display 'nx/nx,options=/tmp/.x2go-danielk/C-danielk-50-1539704304_stRTERMINAL_dp24/options:50''. Do you have any idea how I can get this working again. It appears to me that something is not functioning accordingly with the session management, because the session state file remains in state STARTING and if I try logging in again then I get asked whether I want to terminate or suspend the running session (can't resume) Thanks for any help. X2Go: The Gathering 2018 (2018-11-09 - 2018-11-11) will take place at Stuttgart's hackerspace "shackspace"

Dear $ALL, As stated in the subject line, X2Go: The Gathering 2018 will take place at Stuttgart's hackerspace "shackspace", from Friday afternoon, 2018-11-09, to Sunday afternoon/evening, 2018-11-11. So, only a little more than 4 weeks from now. X2Go: The Gathering is the annual event where users, admins, and developers of X2Go meet face to face, to discuss current X2Go-related issues, fix open bugs, and have a good time getting to know each other. As there is some overlap between X2Go, Arctica, and ORCA e.V., you can expect to see members of those groups as well. Food and beverages are available on-site at low cost. What will cost you money is if you need a place to sleep - we have a few hotels/hostels that we recommend; If you want to take part, and need a hostel/hotel room, please contact me at <X2Go-ML-1(a)baur-itcs.de> ASAP, so we can find a hostel/hotel room for you. Prices currently range from about 31 EUR (cheapest single-bed hostel bedroom) to about 80 EUR (single-bed hotel room), but these may change (increase!) as we get closer to the event date, so please book early if you can! However, this year, attendance *at the actual event* is free for everyone, as the venue is not charging us for using their facilities. I tried with x2goclient on openSUSE site that you suggested, but I obtain the same problem: if I try to install the rpm, this is the error "rpm -i /media/sf_Downloads/x2goclient-4.1.1.1-2.6.x86_64.rpm warning: /media/sf_Downloads/x2goclient-4.1.1.1-2.6.x86_64.rpm: Header V3 DSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID faa17186: NOKEY error: Failed dependencies: libssh_threads.so.4()(64bit) is needed by x2goclient-4.1.1.1-2.6.x86_64" It seems that libssh_threads is not anymore available into the libssh package provided by openSUSE. Local Desktop access crashes client almost immediately

I'm running Scientific Linux 7.4 on the server, and Windows 7 on the client. I want to access my accounts (non-privileged) local desktop remotely. I log in and select the local desktop option in the client. I get a flash of the desktop (with the wrong screen size remotely anyway - I see a small part of the desktop) and then the Windows X server crashes. x2goserver-4.0.1.20-1.el7.x86_64 X2Go Client v. 4.1.0.0 Any ideas? -- James Pulver CLASSE Computer Group Cornell University

x2goclient segfault with ubuntu 18.04 kde

Hi I'm getting a segfault on kde (at the moment it's the neon.kde.org packages, but before it was kubuntu) on ubuntu 18.04. How do I debug the crash or better still, how do I fix the crash? I've never left an individual session connected for more then a day and I frequently drop the connection after afew hours. Everything should reconnect and be exactly where you left it. How long should an X2go session stay up?

I have several users complaining that they "lose" their X2Go session after a week or two and have to re-connect. This is on our local LAN so it's unlikely to be a network drop, though there may be a momentary interruption. Is there any way of shortening the x2go mount point?

The length of the x2go mount point spoils the output of 'df -m' such that it's almost unusable, so, can it be shortened? Font size in a 'Single Application'

I have just installed x2go (server on my xubuntu 18.04 desktop, client on my xubuntu 18.04 laptop). I am using it to run Digikam as a 'Single Application'. I must say it was incredibly easy to set up and get working, congratulations to the developers. The text in Digikam is a bit too large, i tried increasing the DPI in the session settings but that seemed to have no effect (or maybe it made the text even bigger!). So, is there a way to make the text smaller? -- Chris Green

OpenSuse Leap 15

Trying to install x2go nightly on opensuse leap 15, I tried: zypper ar http://packages.x2go.org/opensuse/15/extras x2go-extras zypper ar http://packages.x2go.org/opensuse/15/heuler x2go-nightly But then: zypper search x2go does not return anything cfg x2go also fails and it bitches about the x2go repositories being invalid. -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- Eskimo North Linux Friendly Internet Access, Shell Accounts, and Hosting.
