Desktop sharing using XFCE Desktop

Hi, I am using Ubuntu Desktop Server with XFCE Desktop Environment, and able to access using X2GO client. but other person want to access my screen , he is unable to access it, He can access the Server with New Session, but screen sharing does not seem possible in X2go . Could you please help me to share a screen with multiple X2go users ? Roy.

No input accepted on subsequest sessions

Hi, I use x2go on a few computers (both servers and clients) and have problem on one of them. I'm connecting to xfce (if that matters) on ubuntu 20.04. On my first connection (i.e. when xfce4-session starts), everything works OK. When I disconnect (close x2go window) and reconnect to the same session (no matter what I use - "xdcmp session", "X2go desktop sharing --> resume", etc), I can only "view" what's on the screen and no input is accepted from keyboard or mouse. It doesn't even detect mouse movement (if I hover over something, it doesn't work). Funny enough, I can resize window size and it words as expected (it increases resolution). If, however, I open a new session or kill existing xfce4-session (using ssh), the new connection accepts input without any problems - until I close the connection and reconnect, that is. Does anyone have an idea what could be done to make it work? Thanks, May

x2go much slower than vnc?

I just learned about x2go and wanted to try it out for a remote session to a host I have so far done using vnc serving a xfce desktop. But sadly my observation is that x2go is *much* slower and less responsive than VNC. For example just moving around a window on the desktop (same size) works smoothly with VNC but is done in a very coarse fashion in x2go with the window jumping around slowly and with considerable delay. Both connections go over the same ssh tunnel, same kind of LAN so all other things the same, the problem must lie with x2go or the x2go settings. Is there any explanation for this or anything that could be changed to increase the speed of x2go? Is x2go not *supposed* to be faster than VNC? I have experimented a bit with the connection speed and compression settings but that did not change anything either.

x2go disconnects on paste (openSUSE Tumbleweed)

Dear all, Today I updated from openSUSE Tumbleweed 20200708 to 20200724, and now whenever I try to paste the clipboard contents into a single application launched remotely via x2go, the x2go session disconnects and terminates. Does anyone else here have the same problem, or know what the culprit might be? Regards, Tristan

Losing mouse click ability and keyboard events

Hello, First post, thank you for welcoming me here. From an Ubuntu 20.04 client to an Ubuntu 20.04 server, the default repository install is working out of the box, all is nice. But from times to times (random but around 15 min. ), with no obvious reasons, I'm losing the ability to click : - the display is still fine - the mouse cursor is still drawn - when moving the cursor, it is reacting to the windows borders, URL links, any sensitive parts of the display - but no mouse button click seems to be sent - no keyboard stroke seems to be sent either When killing the client and connecting again, the display is still fine, but the same problem remains. I tried to run the x2go client from a terminal to have a look at what could be wrong, but nothing obvious came to my mind. I tried to have a look at the server's log but I found none. I don't know if I could run the client and/or the server with additional verbosity to try to get more hints? Does that look like something familiar? Thank you -- Nicolas ECARNOT

X2GO file sharing windows to ubuntu

Hi all, I'm trying to share my files from my personal laptop to the X2GO one with the file-sharing options given in the GUI, I'm able to view it in home/username/media/disk, but when I open it, it says permission denied.I've tried changing the directory permissions of the directory but to no avail. When I see permissions, -rwxrwxrwx 1 ubuntu ubuntu 96 Sep 26 11:14 'E_lammps (sshfs-disk-lxde)' When I open it, Error opening directory "/tmp/.x2go-ubuntu/media/disk/_cygdrive_E_lammps" : Permission denied Kindly advise Best RegardsRupayan

x2goclient goes 100% CPU

I read of similar issues in the past, but none seems like mine. If I leave x2goclient running and I don't use my PC for a while (like half an hour or more) when I return I find sometimes it runs at 100% CPU. Killing and restarting it solves the issue, but usually it occurs some time for my machine to reply to input when it happens. I have a Debian 10 (x2goclient 4.1.2.1) and I connect to the server (still Debian 10) by a Forticlient VPN and a Gnome session. I could provide more information, if you told me how. -- Lorenzo

Lag in RStudio desktop in nested ssh sessions (or qsub -I) MacOS clients

Hi folks, Multi-layered one here. We have x2goserver (4.1.0.4-0.0x2go1.0.git20200228.1815.heuler.el7) available on a (CentOS7) login node of our HPC cluster for folks to submit jobs from. If they start an x2go client session from a Mac to our login node, submit interactive jobs with X11 tunnelling enabled (or even just ssh -X directly to an execution node) and run RStudio (1.1.463) desktop from within that second host, there is an un-usable lag in their session. If they type in the console, it can take up to 10 seconds to register and display the keystroke. No errors, everything works, it just isn't very responsive. Linux x2go clients are fine. Windows x2go clients are fine. I know that's a lot of layers they're going through but I'm at a loss for identifying which layer is the issue. Any troubleshooting tips? Anyone out there experiencing similar symptoms? Cheers
