I am having a problem with connecting via X2Go with a system that I just installed Rocky Linux 8.5 onto. I am using the XFCE desktop. I have included the debug log. It opens to the desktop but then the window is basically frozen. The most I can do is open a terminal and it takes many seconds to do that. font path not set correctly

Hi, after setting up a new remote x2go instance (using Devuan) I noticed that xterm complained xterm: cannot load font "-misc-fixed-medium-r-semicondensed--13-120-75-75-c-60-iso10646-1" I traced the issue to the font path (displayed with xset q) missing /usr/share/fonts/X11/misc, so I added it with xset +fp /usr/share/fonts/X11/misc and things started behaving normally again. - But: Where is the font path in x2go actually being set? I'm not sure if some autoconfiguration failed, or if it's a compile time issue, or something else. - For the same issue there's a bug report in Ubuntu, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/x2goserver/+bug/1891825 and especially the remark about the man page at the end. Display Going Black When Clicking on Certain Windows on remote system

I use X2Go to connect from my local Linux system to some remote Centos 7 systems where I run Cadence Virtuoso software. As far as I know the systems and X2Go are set up the same. Systems have the latest OS patches. X2go was installed from Epel repo. client is v. 4.1.1.1-1.el7 server is4.1.0.3-9.el7 There is one system that I connect to where when I start the X2Go session then the screen goes black for a second or two. When I run Virtuoso on that system then whenever I click on the main Virtuoso window or a Virtuoso graphics window then my screen goes black. If I click outside the Virtuoso window then the screen reappears. If I click on the Virtuoso library manager window then the screen stays on. Note that I am running X2Go windowed but my entire screen goes black, not just the X2go window. Any suggestions what could be going wrong and how to debug it? I do not know how to turn on debugging in the Linux version. I am wondering if it is something weird with the color palette since it only happens for certain windows. I can connect to other systems without issue that are set up the same. Thanks

X2Go TCE pxe complications

Hello, I have been given a couple of Termtek TK-3550 thin clients and I am trying to set them up to open into my Ubuntu 20.04 server at my home over our ethernet LAN. These devices don't have much memory so I have been following the instructions to install the "Classic, NFS- filesystem-based X2Go TCE". I have setup a Virtual Box VM, running Ubuntu 20.04 with a bridged network adapter and a permanent IP address, to be the pxe server. I have followed the instructions as best I was able but I am still having difficulties. I think one problem is likely to be that our cheap router, which provides our DHCP server, does not allow me to nominate the "next- server" or the filename. In an attempt to address this I have installed dnsmasq on the pxe server VM and am running dnsmasq. The dnsmasq.conf is as follows: port=0 log-dhcp dhcp-range=192.168.1.0,proxy dhcp-boot=pxelinux.0 enable-tftp tftp-root=/srv/tftp (I have also tried tftp- root=/opt/x2gothinclient/chroot on this line) The thin client is set to boot over LAN and the dhcp-log on the pxe server looks like this when I turn the thin client on: I'm clearly a complete novice but it seems the thin client is finding its way to the pxe server. Unfortunately the thin client trys to boot until it times out, reporting: "No boot filename received". It then just boots its decades old version of Windows CE. Note that when I changed the tftp-root path in dnsmasq from /opt/x2gothinclient/chroot to /srv/tftp it had some effect on the dhcp log (it nominated its terminal id in a second line) but the nett result did not change. I should add that I have exported both /opt/x2gothinclient/chroot and /srv/tftp with the NFS server. I only switched to /srv/tftp because that's where pxelinux.0 is and I assume that is the file it is looking for and failing to find. Basically I have been trying to get this working for a couple of days without success, I have decided to seek expert help. I apologise for my ignorance, I understand that hobbists like myself are probably incredibly annoying. Regards Stuart MacGregor

session freezing

Client and server are both Fedora 35. xfce session. This setup has worked for years. An SSD failed on the server, and after re-installing F35 on it, now x2go session keeps freezing. Seems to happen at least when it is left running unattended. The x2go screen is shown, but unable to get focus into any window, click on any icon. Suspend/unsuspend does not fix it. Mac Client SSL

I have been working on getting a Mac client connected to my broker and workstations, and have found that this client specifically seems to be using very old openssl options. I have had to update my servers to get the SSH connections to work, and even had to do some patching to the broker-daemon to force it to use TLSv1 to support these clients. I don't have either of these issues with my Ubuntu client, so I am even running two broker daemons on different ports just so these clients can have weaker options. Is there a newer client, for Mac, or can one be compiled with the exact same client code, just with update libraries for ssl? My edits thus far are as follows to support this version: x2go-server: add +diffie-hellman-group14-sha1 to sshd_config x2go-broker-daemon (whith https certs): Force TLSv1 to be supported, and update ciphers to allow security level 1 (needed for TLS1) + context = ssl.SSLContext(ssl.PROTOCOL_TLSv1) + context.set_ciphers("DEFAULT:@SECLEVEL=1") + context.load_cert_chain(x2gobroker.defaults.X2GOBROKER_SSL_CERTFILE, x2gobroker.defaults.X2GOBROKER_KEYFILE) + http_server = tornado.httpserver.HTTPServer(application, ssl_options=context)
