X3go win client quits

Folks I use the X2go client on Windows 10 to access several Linux hosts (mostly Ubuntu). Most work just fine, except one. On this node (let's call it SC), the moment X2go Windows client starts the connect, it terminates. I have selected 'display details', but the client disappears before anything shows up. Since this sequence works talking to Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04, and Centos 7, I'm thinking it has to do with the server... The SC server is running Debian 7 wheezy. I know this is seriously out of date, but updating to a newer release at this time is not possible. The x2go daemon is version 4.0.1.16-0x2go1+git20140926.935+wheezy.main I can successfully connect to the server via SSH (using password), so I know that "ssh works". Any pointers you could provide to help me debug the issue would be appreciated. David

how does share folders work ?

Hello I am new to X2Go. I am running X2GO server on Ubuntu, my X2GO client runs on either Windows or Mac OS. I am following the instructions https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:howto:x2goclient-file-sharing to share my folder but nothing happens on the X2Go session I have created. Do I miss something? Or Share folder only works on Linux client ? - Joe

Fedora 36 and glx fails with GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest

In Fedora 35 glxinfo (and glxgears) worked fine with x2goserver-4.1.0.3-17.fc35.x86_64 After updating to Fedora 36, x2goserver-4.1.0.3-17.fc36.x86_64, glxinfo no longer works. $ glxinfo name of display: :50.0 X Error of failed request: GLXUnsupportedPrivateRequest Major opcode of failed request: 143 (GLX) Minor opcode of failed request: 17 (X_GLXVendorPrivateWithReply) Serial number of failed request: 27 Current serial number in output stream: 27 Linux x2goclient X2Go Client v. 4.1.2.2 (Qt - 5.15.3) Is there any way to make this work? Not sure what programs actually use it. Mounting of home dir is failing

Just noticed that mounting of my home dir is failing. Perhaps related to upgrade of client to fedora 36? ssh login without password is working fine. Any ideas? Thanks, Neal

GTK4 apps

Hi folks, I recently upgraded to Fedora 36 which includes more gtk4 versions of apps and discovered that they don't work in x2go: [jrb@fedora ~]$ ldd /usr/bin/gnome-chess | grep gtk libgtk-4.so.1 => /lib64/libgtk-4.so.1 (0x00007fb628e7b000) [jrb@fedora ~]$ gnome-chess (gnome-chess:2552687): Gdk-ERROR **: 07:55:29.217: XInput2 support not found on display Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped) >From a cursory googling around this issue it appears there isn't anything on the user side that can be done about this on an app-by-app basis, is that right? Performance on external monitor

Hi folks, Super happy x2go user on a Thinkpad P1 Gen2 with a 4k screen running Fedora with XFCE. I segregate clients and personal work into distinct users and run 5 or 6 x2go sessions at the same time, switching between them with desktop workspace hotkeys monitored by the master session. Performance is great, even video within an x2go session is terrific. Today the Thinkpad's screen decided to start to fail, so I connected the laptop over HDMI to a 4k external monitor. Now, unfortunately, x2go performance is really suffering- window repaints within a session even with only 1 session are so slow as to be essentially unusable. Window repaints and other rendering activity on the master X session seem about the same. All sessions are 3840x2160, using "LAN", "16m-jpeg", image quality 9. I played a little with those settings but nothing made a material difference. I don't know anything about the X display architecture or the hardware path. Any thoughts from anyone who does on any options to improve x2go performance on an external monitor? Thanks, cheers, Jonah

No connetion after Update to Ubuntu 22.04 (Openssh)

Hi, with latest version of Ubuntu I'm getting an error when trying to connect with windows x2go client to Ubuntu 22.04 machine (I think it's not so relevant that it's ubuntu 22.04 but newer openssh version 8.9): "kex error: no match for method kex algos:server [Diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256], client [curve255519-sha256(a)libssh.org,ecdh-sha2-nistp256,Diffie-hellman-group14-sha 1,Diffie-hellman-group1-sha1]" I have tried to adapt sshd_config via: "HostKeyAlgorithms ecdsa-sha2-nistp256-cert-v01@openssh.com,ecdsa-sha2-nistp384-cert-v01@openss h.com,ecdsa-sha2-nistp521-cert-v01@openssh.com,ssh-ed25519-cert-v01@openssh. com,ssh-rsa-cert-v01@openssh.com,ssh-dss-cert-v01@openssh.com,ecdsa-sha2-nis tp256,ecdsa-sha2-nistp384,ecdsa-sha2-nistp521,ssh-ed25519,ssh-rsa,ssh-dss" After that I have restarted sshd service but that did not help. I also tried: HostKeyAlgorithms ssh-rsa,ssh-dss PubkeyAcceptedKeyTypes ssh-rsa,ssh-dss The error message is the same. So I assume that the error is not what the message is telling me but I know that with some of the latest openssh versions several other clients run into problems (putty latest versions fixed it, jump desktop - setting PubkeyAcceptedKeyTypes=+ssh-rsa did work) Any ideas?

All windows nightly build .exe file have new time stamps?

Was looking at the nightly builds, and noticed that all the .exe files had the same date/time stamp (back to the 2019 builds). Is that expected?

Broker and file sharing

I am looking at the settings in my x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf, and it seems to indicate the broker can set some defaults to turn off allowing printers, and filesystems to be shared. useexports=false print=false I have tried turning these on, and I don't believe they are working. Specifically if I connect to the broker, then a server it servs out. Once connected, I can use the x2go Client window's share folder button. In there I can define an export, and then highlight it and press share. This will then show up on the workstation. Am I missing something? What do these options do if not turn on/off the ability for the user to make these shares? If I wanted to disable these shares/printing, and then enable them for specific hosts by overriding it, are there other options I can activate to achieve this?
