user profile not loaded on login to remote ubuntu machine, x2go server with gnome-fallback-session Hi all, Last night I setup the x2go qt-client and server on my home and work ubuntu 12.04/Unity machines. Connection speed is great, and I am able to login mostly without trouble, except, my login user profile (found at .profile) is not loaded, meaning of course that none of the items i need to be on my PATH can be found. As a work-around, I simply load it manually (source ~/.profile) and restart any applications using the current profile (nautilus, terminals etc). However, i'd prefer not to have to implement this work-around, if there is a way to properly fix it, or have some automated process load it for me. FYI, i've installed x2goserver and x2goserver-xsession on the server, and the QT4 x2goclient on the client. Does anyone have any idea? Kind Regards, Sean

25 user logon problem

Hello everyone; I have set up a x2go terminal-server on ubuntu 12.04 in our school. There are 25 thinclients (wyse with windows7 embedded) in a classroom. The thinclients start with an openbox-session. So far it works fine, but there is a little problem: If more than 2 or 3 clients log on at exactly the same time, some of them stop at the black screen before the gray X2Go Logo appears. There is no error message. With a little timeshift of 2 or 3 seconds between the logons, there are no problems. Can anyone get a little help to solve this? Regards, Th.Hanschke

Your BTS does not cooperate with Comcast

I use Comcast which happens to be the US's largest ISP. I have to use them for SMTP delivery (as they block the outgoing port). But sending mail from me to you BTS fails for your greylisting, and Comcast being Comcast goes into _abort_ rather than _retry_. Dirk

x2go-Problem in windows7 64 bit:Nach erfolgreicher Installierung von x2go und Aufruf einer Sitzung wechselte der user über"Einstellungen"(?) links oben im x2go - Sitzungsfenster von "integrierter X-Server"zu" persönlicher Server" oder "personenbezogener Server"(?) ... .Bei allen weiteren x2go-Sitzungsaufrufen erscheint die Fehlermldung:"X-Server startet nicht.Überprüfen Sie Ihre Installation" und die Sitzung wird beendet ohne Möglichkeit auf "integrierter X-Server" zurückzusetzen oder weiter zu manövrieren.Vielfache Deinstallierung mit (vermeintlich?) allen Komponenten und Reinstallieren kann das Problem weder ändern noch beheben.Genau so wenig wahrscheinlich wie das Zurücksetzen des Computers mit der Erzeugung eines Wiederherstellungpunktes auf einen füheren Zustand.Da der user dringend auf Rechnerunterstützung angewiesen ist,bittet er um zeitnahe Bearbeitung seines Problems soweit möglich und bedankt sich in vorraus für enstandenen Zeitaufwand und Mühe,insbesondere bei Herrn Shneyder für sein persönliches Entgegenkommen am vergangenen Donnerstag am Telefon. x2go desktop sharing under Ubuntu

Hi x2go users and devs! I installed x2go server under Ubuntu 12.04 from the x2go ppa. The server is running KDE and I'm hoping to share just one users KDE desktop with various clients (at least 1) although I have only tried logging in from Windows 7 so far and I always get a new desktop instead of being presented to option of or automatically getting logged onto the already running desktop. I asked about this in IRC and I was told that x2godesktopsharing need not be installed on the server to achieve what I want as I thought that would be the way to do this initially. Instead I was told I needed to suspend my session but I'm not sure how that process is supposed to work. I installed the KDE x2go plasmoid but that only seems to be able to suspend desktops that have logged in remotely- the suspend option is greyed out for user logged in locally. The user I'm trying to desktop share with is added to both of the x2go groups. Is this known to work as I want currently? If so, are there any relevant guides or docs?

Wiki review: RPM based installation of X2Go

Hi all (RPM-based X2Go users), can anyone (Jan? Daniel?) update the wiki pages for the client-side X2Go applications and review or explain how to install x2goclient[1], pyhoca-gui[2], pyhoca-cli[3] on RPM based distros? In the wiki it is mostly referred to RHEL6. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to reference all RPM based distro the installation works on? PyHoca-GUI 0.4.0.1 created bad config file

Hi all, x2go is quite nice to connect from Windoze to a few Ubuntu machines at work, and I am very glad that you guys carry on from the various Nx projects In order to permit multiple machine entries, I fiddled with PyHoca (0.4.0.1), but seem to have corrupted the file by adding multiple entries with the same key. Now I am getting: Traceback (most recent call last): File "pyhoca\wxgui\frontend.pyo", line 1064, in OnProfileEdit File "pyhoca\wxgui\profilemanager.pyo", line 137, in __init__ File "x2go\backends\profiles\_file.pyo", line 329, in to_profile_id x2go.x2go_exceptions.X2GoProfileException: The sessions config file contains multiple session profiles with name: foo123 Traceback (most recent call last): File "pyhoca\wxgui\frontend.pyo", line 1147, in OnProfileExport Where (on a win7 machine) is that file, and how can I clean it manually? Unity and LXDE with x2go - a quick test

I ran some tests from Windows and Ubuntu trying to start Unity and LXDE sessions on Ubuntu 12.04. The findings: - LXDE and x2go work OK. - Unity is IMO close to unusable with x2go. Setup: Ubuntu 12.04 with x2goclient 4.0.0.4, x2goserver 4.0.0.0-0~640~precise1 Windows 7 with x2goclient 4.0.0.3. Unity Open (Linux/Windows): The window is resized to fullscreen during session startup, completely ignoring whatever resolution I might have chosen in the settings. Resize(Linux/Windows): Resizing the Unity window does not work, e.g. the window size changes but the content "does not get it". LXDE Open (Linux): Works correctly. Open (Windows): The client window is too small for the content. Presumably [0]. Resize (Linux/Windows): When resizing the client window, the taskbar is "forgotten". It just stays where it is while the rest is resized. I can trigger the taskbars resize reliably when I open a new window or move the mouse over buttons on the taskbar that change their appearance on mouseover.
