Resolution Problem openSuSE 13.1 vs 12.3 & Debian 7.4.0

Hi everybody, i am testing openSuSE 13.1 right now and i have a problem with the automatic setting of a full-screen-resolution. It works without any problem on a Debian 7.4.0 and a openSuSE 12.3, on 13.1 the vertical resolution of 1920 is correct but horizontal resolution is around 1200 instead of 1080. The taskbar on the bottom and the top pixels are outside the screen and the mouse can't reach it. The auto-mounter-pop-up can be half seen, so it looks like 1920x1200 is set. The client is always a windows-x2go-client with exactly the same config, the only difference is a changed ip-address as server so i can test in parallel. Anybody had that problem before? Below is a version-comparison in case that helps. Issue with heuler?

Hi All - I've recently have had trouble installing x2goserver in virtual machines using the heuler (nightly builds) mirrors. The install hangs on "[info] Cleaning up stale X2go sessions" which I would guess is odd given that the virtual machine is "brand new" and has yet to run any x2go sessions. Q: is this something on my end, maybe a dns issue? Has anyone else seen this? Thanks!

Hi Les, At the studio site you can rebuild a disto and turn them into live-images (usb, iso, virtuals) or installable/deploy-images (usb,iso). On the tab addition-repo's you can search for x2go (that is available on the OBS) It's free of charge, site: https://susestudio.com Amount of time it takes to build varies a lot, from 2 minutes till 30 minutes, depending how busy the engines in the background are. Results can be kept privately, or shared with the community. Just build a stick (460MB download, 1,6GB uncompressed) and an live iso (624MB download, 2GB uncompressed) There is a gallery with pre-defined images, you can use, and you can clone any pre-defined images. x2go loadbalancing with HAProxy

Hi, As promised I tell you about my experience with loadbalancing x2go. I had first tried to use the default loadbalancing setup of x2go broker. It was working fine except that the Windows client was not connecting to the https broker (due to a bug in the client). It has been fixed quickly and I thank the development team for their reactivity. In the meanwhile, I had looked up alternative solutions and here is what I set up : The broker is a simple HAProxy <http://haproxy.1wt.eu/> loadbalancer configured for ssh connections balancing. For us it listens on port 10000 and dispatches ssh/tcp connections over 2 x2go servers on ports 22 (the default ssh port !). The balancing algorithm is based upon source ip hashing : It gives returning users a chance to be sent to the same x2go server next time and have the possibility to resume a suspended session (better than round-robin). Advantages of that solution : - x2go servers are not exposed to the outside world and there is no need to open ports on the firewall for each x2go server : You only need to open ports for the loadbalancer, which you can put in your dmz. - HAProxy cares to dispatch connections only to x2go servers that are up (timeout configuration). - Authentication is only made once on x2go servers (they are configured with ldap_pam). - No need to install a session broker agent on x2go servers. Drawbacks : - When a user connects with a different public ip, he wont probably be sent to the same x2go server where he could have a suspended session. - Authentication is not made by the loadbalancer so there aren't acl management as with the regular x2go broker. - Every connections transit through the loadbalancer so there might be a little overhead. HAProxy is pretty optimized though and it is not noticeable. I join hereby the HAProxy configuration file I am using. It really works fine for us. I hope it will be useful to others. x2go Mac client and OS X firewall

Hello I use x2go 4.1.3 OS X client on Mavericks (10.9.2). It is used to connect to a Linux system, cat /proc/version below: Linux version 3.12.9-301.fc20.x86_64 (mockbuild@bkernel02) (gcc version 4.8.2 20131212 (Red Hat 4.8.2-7) (GCC) ) #1 SMP Wed Jan 29 15:56:22 UTC 2014 % x2goversion x2goagent: 3.5.0.21 x2goserver: 4.0.1.13 x2goserver-extensions: 4.0.1.13 x2goserver-fmbindings: 4.0.1.13 x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.13 I use disk sharing between server and client as well. My OS X Firewall is ON, under Options, the “Block all incoming connections” is UNCHECKED, and both “Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections” and “Enable stealth mode” are checked. Every time I connect to the server, OS X firewall pops up a message asking 'Do you want the application “x2goclient.app” to accept incoming network connections?’ I have taken the following steps: 1. Clicked “yes”, which adds /Applications/x2goclient.app to the OS X Firewall 2. Remote Login (SSH) is already allowed to receive incoming connections 3. Manually added the following apps to allow incoming connections: - /Applications/x2goclient.app/Contents/MacOS/x2goclient - /Applications/x2goclient.app/Contents/exe/nxproxy - /usr/libexec/sftp-server - /usr/sbin/sshd However OS X still prompts me whenever a connection is made to the remote session, or when a new session is started. X2Go - Ubuntu 13.10 - LXDE Session Logout

Hi, Firstly, well done to the team behind X2GO, excellent work, and hoping to get involved once we are up to speed... We have noticed a number of problems with using LXDE on Ubuntu recently. Initially, under a 12.04 (.3?) build ( 3.5 Kernel ), we had LXDE working fine/well, with the bindings etc correct. logout was fine. 12.04 got upgraded to 12.04.4 and the kernel moved to 3.8. LXDE still works, but the logout button/process doesnt work anymore. the session simply seems to reset, and stay active. We have also tried a vanilla 13.10 server build ( 3.11 kernel ) , with x2goserver, Same outcome. The only way to close the LXDE session, in both cases, is to exit the client.. When you log back in as the user, the original session is 'Suspended'. Build Sequence ( in both cases ) # apt-get install xfce4 xfce4-goodies lxde lxpanel lxsession pcmanfm openbox lxde-common firefox zenity # add-apt-repository ppa:x2go/stable # apt-get update # apt-get install software-properties-common python-software-properties x2goserver x2goserver-xsession x2golxdebindings ( Notice no ubuntu-desktop load, trying to keep the install clean and secure ) . Ive googled around, and have seen - Problems with startlbuntu and lxde-session between versions - systemd causing pam wrap and config to screw up .. Has anybody else noticed this.. found a work around ? BTW : 12.04 LTS Updated to 12.04.4.. became 13.04, and now ppa: x2go/stable doesnt have x2goserver packages available. many Thanks for all support Gary

Hi Gary, I'm sorry to hear that you are running into both these issues. However, the lack of 13.04 builds on the stable PPA is a separate issue so I am changing the subject of this email. I can confirm that 13.04 (raring) builds are not longer available in the stable PPA: https://launchpad.net/~x2go/+archive/stable or in the nightly PPA: https://launchpad.net/~x2go/+archive/ppa However, they are still available in the Baikal LTS PPA: https://launchpad.net/~x2go/+archive/baikal Could you please try the Baikal LTS PPA? Also, MIke#1, is this something you purposely configured on launchpad? -Mike#2

Fwd: x2gostartagent command argument

My need is to operate a headless ubuntu server. On the man page for x2gostartagent is thefollowing information for the "command". *The command given by the <command> argument is only used to create the session ID* Unsure what to provide, given this information, I am providing "pwd", as an arbitrary and harmless Linux command. What would you advise, please?
