Printing on RHEL 6.5 Server

I'm trying to print from a RHEL 6.5 server running both x2goserver and cups to a Fedora 20 client. Both are running x2go 4.0.1.3. I have installed the x2goserver-printing and cups-x2go packages for RHEL. I have added the virtual printer to the cups server. On the client I have setup printing to show the dialog and start evince to view the PDF. When I attempt to print something, select the virtual printer, then click print, nothing happens. I see a pdf file in the cups spool directory but nothing in the client spool directory. When I attempt to manually copy the pdf file to this directory nothing happens. Maybe this is expected. I see from strace that x2goclient is reading the contents of the client spool directory and the number of files changes but it doesn't do anything. Is there something related to fuse and sshfs that prevents the cups/x2goserver processes from copying over the generated PDF? Is copying the file to the client spool directory not enough? Is there some other sort of signal passed from the server to the client to initiate printing? Below are the log messages I get when I try to print, which doesn't seem to have any clear error messages. Keyboard mapping hosed with latest update

I've run into the same problem as Panayotis with x2goserver freezing on "cleaning up stale x2go sessions" during the upgrade process. I can break out from that, but connecting from the Windows x2go client v4.0.1.3 results in a keyboard mapping that's completely hosed: q maps to y, w maps to t, etc.

Unable to upgrade

Hello all! I have installed x2go, I can connect - everything is fine. In the past I think there was a problem when I tried to launch a client (as xterm session), and which I was unable to properly close, so I forced close it. The problem is that I am unable to upgrade through apt-get upgrade though. Now when I try to upgrade I get this message: Processing triggers for menu (2.1.46) ... Setting up x2goserver (4.0.1.14-0x2go1+git20140402.842+wheezy.main.1) ... Group x2gouser already exists. User x2gouser already exists. [info] Cleaning up stale X2Go sessions.. … and the screen remains like this forever. The uname -a command produces the following result: Linux danube 3.13-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.13.7-1 (2014-03-25) x86_64 GNU/Linux Any help? -- Panayotis

Again x2go and network manager

Hi guys, sorry to warm up this topic again. We upgraded to Kubuntu 13.10. Now network manager is again not working. Because of the problems of the earlier Ubuntu versions we already have corrected all .../polkit-1/actions to the same for interactive. Now we are not able to activate the network manager again. We do need to have a this gui for vpn etc. We are lost. Any ideas? Thanks, Matt

Hi Mike, we talked some month back about me helping with some X2go documentation. I logged into the IRC chatroom, but I don't know if I did it correctly (my first time on IRC ever), because I saw nobody else online. It might be easier to discuss this over IRC, but I would have to see about timing (my time zone is PST) In the linked document, you see that I mention 2 Videos, one about a typical X2go session and one about how Thinclient looks like, I still have to do these video. I'm using the official network rendering plugin of Blender. It allows to set a master server, that coordinates all the rendering effort. Then you set slaves that do the actual rendering and connect to the master. Then, from a blender instance set to client, you can send render requests to the master and that then distributes it around to the slaves. I have some GPUs sitting around that I want to attach to x2go servers and use them as slaves. So you run at least 3 instances of blender with these 3 different roles. The configuration in Blender for this cannot be done on the command line so far (the render script is still marked as experimental) and for this I need to start up blender with the interface, which I cannot. I did setup some .blend files that are set on master and slave to run these via the command line, but that no longer works for some reason. It might be that the config got changed, but I cannot even get into the GUI to check. The funny thing is that before I had the ATI card in the X2go server, it worked flawlessly. The GUI rendering was not fluid, but pretty usable. Now that I installed the proprietary drivers on it and X is running on the server (a strange requirement in order to use GPU rendering at all), blender segfaults. I would be interested in the rendering script that you might have, but I won't be able to use it if I cannot set the configuration on the server to use the right compute device, and so far it looks like blender, as GUI program does not offer the full configuration options on the command line. Win32 X2Go Client: Please Test nightly 4.0.2.0 build with newer dependencies

Here it is http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/heuler/mingw32-4.4/qt… I am asking for testers. If you do encounter a bug, please see if you can reproduce the bug on this build without the new dependencies: http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/heuler/mingw32-4.4/qt… (Note: Both builds do have PulseAudio 5.0. That's the only updated dependency in the latter compared to 4.0.1.3+build2 .) Also, you may notice that the file size is smaller for the build with new dependencies. LXDE window decoration flickers

Hi all. I have installed x2goserver on a Fedora 20 machine. In general, it works like charm, but on a LXDE session, the window decoration flickers on mouse over. Is there a way to get rid of this flickering? Greets Marcus

x2go server for windows

Hello, I¹m looking for info on x2go server for windows. Is there a package available for XP/7/8/Server? I was in a NetApp class last week. We did our labs in a VM environment and used x2go to access RedHat and Windows 2012 VM, which worked nicely. I would like to try to implement x2go in my environment. I support a Virtual Computer Lab (VCL) at GMU and x2go looks very interesting as access method.
