X2Go Client: Where to put RSA key for auto login on Windows

Hi List I'm trying to use the "Try auto login" feature on Windows, but it's not working (tested with X2Go Client 4.0.3.2). When connecting, I'm always asked for a password to open the key, but I actually didn't set any passphrase at all for my RSA key. I suspect that maybe X2Go Client does not even find the key. Which is the right location to put my RSA key in? Does X2Go Client consider any environment variables? (When I enter the actual path to the key in the "Use RSA/DAS key for ssh connection" field and unset the auto login option, the connection works.) Thanks a lot for your help. Andy

The broker presumes that desktop session commands (command=...) are given in uppercase letters. I have now added code to x2gobroker, that also allows desktop session commands to be lower or mixed case. Nightly builds should be available within the next 24h. Release Round After May 23th

Hi This is meant as a heads-up. After May, 23th, I will merge currently non-applied patches, apply trivial bugfixes and release new versions of at least the following components: - X2Go Client - X2Go Broker The new version of X2Go Client will NOT yet include the WIP OS X fixes and PulseAudio integration. It turned out that bundling PulseAudio is more complicated than I would have liked and getting things wrapped up is taking longer than expected. I plan to include them in 4.0.4.1, though. X2Go Broker has, likewise, seen a lot of changes that warrant a new release version. This was especially asked for by Mike Gabriel. Other components may also see releases dependent of my judgment. Newbie question: What is x2go's relationship to VcXsrv?

Hi I use VcXsrv and have just come across x2go. Please will someone explain if there is any relationship between x2go and VcXsrv? Why might I want to use x2go instead of VcXsrv? (I work on a Windows 8.1 machine and want to access GUI apps on Linux machines). Best regards David

I am still able to login and get a Mate session using x2Go. As I understand it Xinerama is used for dual monitor setups (which I haven't got). You'll see weird behavior with csh and others, though. Besides making all remote calls POSIX sh-compatible, I wouldn't know how to fix the problem. And I'm not even sure csh and friends *are* POSIX sh-compatible, without looking it up first... Keyboard Translation Mac/OS

I posted here a while back about an issue with keyboard translation with MacOS 10.10.3, it worked fine on my sons computer but not on a customers with the same OS. I went to the customers premise today and from his machine logged in as myself and the keyboard worked properly, logged in as him and it did not. We narrowed it down to his having /bin/csh as the shell on the Ubuntu 14.04 server and I /bin/ksh. Changing his shell to ksh resolved the translation issue. However, from a Ubuntu 14.10 Linux workstation, it is fine to have csh as the shell on the server, it only breaks if originating from a MacOS workstation.
