x2gogetports and x2gogetdisplays Issues

I'm trying to get a fresh install working on Ubuntu 12.04 and Fluxbox. Currently I'm trying to either connect to the existing display or run a custom command. I am simply testing via localhost for now. I can connect succesfully to the server however nothing happens once connected. I have turned up the logging level to debug and get constantly repeating syslog errors (every second) of; Jun 18 15:11:45 cfd-018 /usr/lib/x2go/x2gogetports[22002]: db_getports called, server: test-server; return value: Jun 18 15:11:45 cfd-018 /usr/lib/x2go/x2gogetdisplays[22033]: db_getdisplays called, server: test-server; return value: On running either x2gogetports or x2gogetdisplays manually they both produce the error; Died at /usr/lib/x2go/x2gogetports line 34. Died at /usr/lib/x2go/x2gogetdisplays line 34. Line 34 refers to 'my $host=shift or die;'. It seems like the scripts are unable to get a host and then prevents a display from being detected. However, the x2goclient has no problem detecting the displays. Using the following; X2Go Client v. 4.0.4.0 x2goagent: 3.5.0.31 x2goserver: 4.0.1.19 x2goserver-extensions: 4.0.1.19 x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.19 Any ideas on how to continue to debug this? Any ideas why this might be happening? Thanks Hamish

X2go server does not work correctly when installed after nomachine nxserver 3.5.x

I attempted to replace the nomachine 3.5 product on my Centos 6.6 servers with an X2go server, but I cannot log on to it. The popup error is: Connection failed xset: unable to open display "" xset: unable to open display "" Most of the advice about this error suggests that ssh X remoting is not working, but I've verified that it is useing either an exported DISPLAY or the -X option. However; if I logon as root it works! If I create a NEW user on the server and logon to that it works. I just can't logon to a user that used to run NX! I took a problem user's home dir and moved it, and created an empty home, and x2go logs on correctly. So its something to do with the settings in the old home dirs as established by NX I suppose but I can't figure out what. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance wendell nichols

Hi I normally do not announce new releases via our -user and -dev mailing lists. This time, the situation is special. Active users of cups-x2go should update as soon as possible due to the security fixes implemented in the new version. Non-active users of cups-x2go do not need to take immediate action, but are likewise encouraged to update. To make sure that cups-x2go is not being used, you can remove user accounts from the group fuse (or whatever is appropriate for your distribution.) As cups-x2go requires sshfs, non-access to fuse is a way to deny functionality. As cups-x2go is part of both Fedora and EPEL, this is of special interest for Orion. I will provide you with an CVE ID as soon as one has been assigned. It has been already requested. Mihai

Hi My x2gobroker installation works very well (nightly build). I have a question about x2godbadmin and the --addgroup option. I have supposed that run the command x2godbadmin --addgroup x2gouser add the group in the PostgreSQL database and then all members of the x2gouser can access to x2goserver But after that, it appears that new user add to the group can't open a x2gosession. x2goserver say : "Can't read password file /home/xxxx/.x2go/sqlpass". So, what do really this command ? * Read the content of the /etc/group/ * find x2gouser line * read the users that are member * add on per one in the database the user and write a ~/.x2go/sqlpass for each one ? desktop freezes when connection lost

Love x2go, but one significant annoyance. If I sleep my client without first shutting down x2go, then when it wakes, desktop is unresponsive until x2go timesout, and asks whether to terminate. I don't know what x2go is doing that freezes desktop, but I don't think this should happen. I'm using kde on client side. I saw this behavior for some time, both on kde4 (fedora f22) and now on kf5 (fedora 23).

FC22 - Trinity

FC22 What Works - What Doesn't

The following Window Managers work: LXDE, XFCE, MATE, OPENBOX, and ICEWM The following doesn't work: KDE (black screen) GNOME (Oh No Something Went Wrong!) Unity (Oh No Something Went Wrong!) Cinnamon (Crashed - Fallback Mode, and that leaves just wallpaper) Trinity (Can't run starttrinity, may not be properly installed) On all of the Window managers that work, logout only works on ICEWM, all the others I have to terminate the session. x2go not working with fedora f22 kde?

I just updated server to f22 (actually, clean install of OS). When I try to start x2go client (from fedora f21), I get don't seem to get any kde desktop. If kde was configured to restore session, I just get the window that I had used previously (konsole), but no panel - no action on right click on desktop - no way to start anything or do anything. I tried mv'ing ~/.x2go on the server, but that didn't help. Tried mv'ing ~/.kde on the server - still no help. Nothing logged under ~/.x2go, where are the logs? -- Those who fail to understand recursion are doomed to repeat it
