communication between local and remote (seamless) applications

Hello, with a mixture of locally running applications and seamlessly started remote apps, is there a way of communication between the two? We have a usecase with one application running on a remote machine in x2go-seamless mode. This remote app needs to pass some information to the local system, like e.g. passing an email address back that should be handed to the local mail client. Any hints for further investigation or maybe APIs that could be used to build that kind of information passing? Thanks in advance philipp

Vivid packages in X2Go ppa's

Hi all, I have enabled vivid (15.04) as a supported platform for the stable and nightly X2Go ppa's and requested a build of all packages. Users should be able to install packages off that now. Please treat these packages with care. They may or may not horribly explode. Mihai

x2go performance with 4.0.0 kernel

I built a 4.0 kernel and booted Fedora 21 on it with x2go server on Fedora 21 box. Accessed from Ubuntu 14.10 box. Tried a high definition Youtube video, worked okay not expanded to full screen. In full screen mode, it was mostly okay but sometimes with rapid panning there was some jerkiness. Sound was smooth either way. I was mostly just curious to see if the 4.0.0 kernel broke anything notable but on the server side seems okay. Plan to drop Mac OS X 10.6 support

Currently, we have to create a separate build for OS X 10.6, which, if we move to new (hosted and virtualized) build hardware, would probably double our monthly costs, so we're trying to avoid that. Rationale: OS X 10.6 is no longer receiving security updates by Apple since February 2014. For OS X 10.5, Apple ceased security support in September 2011. We continued to support OS X 10.5 in X2GoClient until April of 2012. That was a good 6 months over the official end of support from Apple's side. Following that logic, we should already have dropped support for OS X 10.6 around August 2014, so it's long overdue to do so. TL;DR: If you're currently using OS X 10.6 and have no plans or no way to upgrade to a newer release, please speak up now. Mac Lion

I recently had need to boot into MacOS Lion (10.7.5) and while I had it running downloaded the most recent X2Go client. I am happy to report the inverted CAPS LOCK key is fixed in the latest version. Unfortunately sound still does not work. X authorization issues

Dear all, We're having issues connecting to an x2go server running on Debian Wheezy. Specifically, we cannot connect to an xfce4 desktop from an OS X client. The x2go client version is 4.0.3.2 (from MacPorts). The x2go server version is 4.0.1.19-0x2go2+git20150326.1064+wheezy.main.1 (from the x2go Debian repo) Connections using plain "ssh -Y" or "ssh -X" work fine. Connections with x2go to a single application work fine. The permissions of $HOME/.Xauthority are 600 The owner of $HOME/.Xauthority is $USER:$USER The first attempt to connect will simply fail, without valuable error messages (at least to me), the second attempt will result in: "Your session was closed before reaching a usable state. This can be due to the local X server refusing access to the client. Please check authorization provided by the remote X application." Debug output from the client is attached. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Christoph
