x2goclient & pyhoca-gui both fail to start

I am not sure how to troubleshoot this. I haven't used x2goclient for a couple weeks and it was working. *note: Recently I upgraded my Ubuntu 16.04 to the new 4.8 kernel (which may or may not be related to this but thought I'd mention it).* Today I've tried to start x2goclient several times and the process starts but the x2goclient gui interface doesn't appear. Any suggestions about what to look at to try to determine why it fails? I tried pyhoca-gui also and it too fails with the following: *$ pyhoca-gui* */usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/gevent/builtins.py:93: PyGIWarning: Notify was imported without specifying a version first. X2Go crash from Mac/MATE to Fedora 25 w NIS user getting x2gostartagent: blocking creation of agent's keyboard file

This only seems to be affecting one user. He has a NIS account and has tried 2 NIS accounts to make sure. He's running a Mac with the latest X2Go (2.7.11) connecting to a Fedora 25 server with NIS, choosing the MATE desktop and audio disabled. We made sure to check the security settings as per this older post screenshot <http://lists.x2go.org/pipermail/x2go-dev/attachments/20151013/f02b140a/atta…> and confirmed the .Xauthority permissions problem <http://lists.x2go.org/pipermail/x2go-dev/2015-October/010733.html> does not exist. X2Go Client: Kex error : no match for method server host key alog: server [ssh-rsa], client [ssh-ed25519]

Hey everyone, Any advice on the problem below? I hit it consistently with X2Go Client, but it does not happen with the Pyhoca client. Error: Kex error : no match for method server host key alog: server [ssh-rsa], client [ssh-ed25519]. Client computer: * Windows 8.1 connecting to Linux Mint 17.1 (Ubuntu 14.04.1) running the MATE desktop. * X2Go client software v4.0.5.2. The problem does not happen with the Pyhoca software (I downloaded the latest version). Server: Linux Mint 17.1 (Ubuntu 14.04.1) running the MATE desktop. This has worked fine. When the problem above started to happen, I tried generating RSA keys on my Windows machine and transferred them to my Linux machine, but this didn't help. I also tried with DSA and also ED22519 keys, but no-go on X2Go. I installed Pyhoca and authenticate using my userid & password. I can then connect to the suspended session that was originally created with the X2Go client. For now I am using the Pyhoca client, but would also like to get the X2Go client working again. Thanks!

X2go Compositing Desktops?

Just wondering if there has been any further work to support compositing desktops like Gnome-3 in the native mode or KDE5? Also curious if any further developments on ports to Android? x2go browser plugin

A couple of questions: 1. Is there a way to view the x2go client in Chrome / Firefox / Safari in OSX / PC yet? The documentation is sparse on non-Firefox clients with non-Ubuntu OSs: http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:advanced:x2goplugin#installation_ubuntu_… 2. Firefox is deprecating plugins very soon: https://www.fxsitecompat.com/en-CA/docs/2016/plug-in-support-has-been-dropp… Any contingency plans around this? 3. Is it currently possible to view x2go clients with noVNC or guacamole? Thanks

Multiple Xfce4 sessions from same user

Hi - This may not be specific X2go question, but I thought I would try anyway. For the last couple of years I was able to log in to a server with X2go to pull up a unique X session (using KDE4 or Xfce4) even when I was logged in on the console of the server with X running there. This never seemed to be an issue. Nowadays, this doesn't seem to be possible- I cannot login to Xfce4 via X2go if the same user is logged in on the local X console running Xfce4 as well. X2goclient starts the session and it immediately closes. My question is, specifically with Xfce4, what has changed in recent months that prevents this from working? Thanks, Rett Walters

Key new features/bugfixes of this upcoming release are: - PulseAudio Support on macOS - updated SSHD handling for the client-side SSHD required for file and print sharing - fix for the "key error" messages also relating to SSHD that may have kept file and print sharing from working, esp. on Windows A full list of features and bugfixes will be published by Mihai once the official release takes place. This message is so you can plan ahead and find a spot in your personal schedule where you might want to download, test, and deploy the new client. I would also like to use this opportunity to introduce a new sponsor, CFD.direct. CFD Direct <http://cfd.direct> are the primary developers of OpenFOAM <http://openfoam.org>, the free, open source software for computational fluid dynamics. We received 1000 EUR from them as an initial payment, along with a statement that they intend to fund the project annually with a fixed percentage of their cloud revenue. Hi there, I found this option in /etc/x2go/x2goagent.options that I'd like to comment out on a multi-user system, but am more than a little scared by the attached comment: # Launch X2Go's X-server x2goagent with option "-nolisten tcp". # # This is the default setting and the X2Go developers really recommend not to # touch this. Without more explanation, I feel that I might not know what I'm doing :) [I have a multi-user compute cluster with a batch scheduler, fronted by a login node with X2GO installed. pyhoca-cli stopped working for me. I expected it to ask me for password, but instead it raises an exception. I don't know what happened, because this works all the time. And I think I didn't change anything. Hi Karl, Thank you for your response! I took your example but it didn't work for me: I edited /etc/ssh/sshd_config on the server and restarted ssh, but X2GO still complained with the same kex error, but Pyhoca is still OK. I'll take a closer read and will try it again soon; maybe I messed up somehwere. ------ From: "KARL A.
