Mounting in a specified path

Hello, I'm a new using X2go. It's great! When I want to mount a Windows folder in a X2go session, the mount point is located in: /tmp/info_media/... I would like to specify the mount point path in the server from the X2go client. In my case, the folder in the server is: /home/my_user/.bulmages X2go it's great! -- Aron

Keyboard layouts problem on Ubuntu 10.10

Hello list, I'm researching about renewing existing Freenx-based infrastructure and I'm playing with x2go as alternative. Using Lenny's packages on ubuntu 10.10 there is a problem with keyboard layout indicator. Switching between layouts actually works but indicator on the panel shows an error icon, not country letters for the current layout. When I try to 'restore defaults' in the kbd- layout's settings, it throws some kind of generic error dialog with Xorg version and what to attach as debug info, etc. Tested with freenx and neatx, layout switching does not work at all, but there is no error indicated. With locally started X session everything is OK. Digging in, I've found that x2goagent (like nxagent from freenx-team) are build against xorg 6.9.0 and the current X in ubuntu is 7.5. Is it possible this older version to cause this problems and what about compiling whith newer xorg? What else can I do for debug? Can anyone confirm this problem? Thanks.

Hi! I'm a heavy x2go user but, my last setups are failing and I don't know how to solve the problem by myself... I have two system with the same error... 1 Maverick and 1 Lucid, both 32 bits. I read the wiki pages: http://wiki.x2go.org/adding_the_x2go_repository_debian and: http://wiki.x2go.org/installing_x2goserver-home_ubuntu The installations works fine: root@maverick01:~# dpkg -l | grep -i x2go ii nxcompshad 3.4.0-1-1 nx based library needed by the x2go system ii x2goagent 3.4.0-3-1 Special NX-ized client, was developed by NoMachine to handle X sessions ii x2goserver 3.0.1-5 x2goserver (daemon and tools) ii x2goserver-one 3.0.1-1 x2goserver-one (One Node Edition - for single server usage) But when I try to connect to it from another desktop, I see the following error: Connection failed maverick01: cat: /home/administrativo/.x2go/C-administrativo-50-1287693745_stDGNOME_dp24/cmdoutput: No such file or directory I already try to change the "Desktop session" from GNOME to "Custon session" and type "exec gnome-session" there but, no success... Session limitations

Hi, Does anyone no if there is any session limitations as to how many x2go sessions you can run at the same time? It seems as with local users (created in the ubuntu box) we can open as many sessions as we want. But with windows AD integrated users, we are only allowed to open two sessions. If we try to open a third, we get the message: "The remote proxy closed the connection while negotiating the session...." I read somewhere that the NX server free edition is limited to 2 sessions.. is that why? Benjamin

Thanks for your posts - and yes! I understand you :) This is not a priority project, but I'm working on it form time to time. Tried now without using likewise-open as you said, but instead krb5, samba, and winbind... and it works fine. Now sound is through, and authenthication is working fine with just username I still cannot mount folders yet, nor with local user login or with windows users. I get a popup screen saying: Could not display "home/domain/user..etc(sshfs-disk)". The file is of an unknown type Maybe I need to add something in smb.conf or nsswitch.conf ?? Starting multiple sessions

I have installed the x2goserver-home package on my linux server. Now I want to open multiple session windows to my server from my x2go client. I created two session profiles to my server, with the only difference being one of them is named "server1" and the other is named "server2". So, I open a session to server1, and then I try to click on the icon for server2, but nothing happens. Am I missing something? The only way I was able to open a second session was to run another instance of the x2go client, and then click on the server2 icon. Is this expected behavior? That I can only open 1 session per x2go client instance?

x2go integration with windows domain

Hi, We have been trying to setup x2go in a windows environment. We want to use Ubuntu as our terminal server for internet surfing. The idea is that users log on to their TS session with their windows credentials. We use likewise-open to join ubuntu to the windows network. We have added the AD (active directory) group of users having permission to use the TS to the sudoers file like: (Under the x2go section) $DOMAIN\\group ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/x2gopgwrapper We are using the windows client version 3.01-4. Basically it works but we have two errors: 1. No sound 2. Mount folder fails with the error: .. Could not find "/temp/DOMAINuser_media/folder" Please check the spelling Please note the missing / between DOMAIN and user In the client version 3.01-2, there was an option in the sound section to deselect the default port, if we did that, we had sound through. But that option is not available in the 3.01-4 version. We have a firewall between the two networks, and have opened up tcp port 22 for ssh Any ideas how to get this fully working? Connect to X2go behind NAT

Hello, What would be a good way to connect to a whole bunch of machines behind NAT? Till now, I made a special port-forwarding in the firewall for every machine, but this is a lot of work. I would prefer to connect to some kind of gateway-machine what gives me access to the local network. With tightVNC I could use the "-via" command: vncviewer -via root(a)acrobaat.xs4all.nl ooievaartje Some idears how I could do something like this with X2go? Hey all, I am trying to set up x2goserver multi node on debian. For that I followed the documentation in the wiki and used the debian lenny repository only. I noticed that using the samba scheme was NOT optional: ./genconf wants to have the arguments for samba anyway and the generated ldap setup also employs samba. Commenting out the include in /etc/ldap/slapd.conf didn't help because the samba parts are already in the database. So installing the samba scheme is mandatory (unless you want to set up LDAP yourself). What I have running now are 2 machines: One has LDAP and PostgreSQL, the other does not, but uses the servers on the first one. I can use both as normal (separate) X2Go Terminalservers (with the same users, thanks to LDAP), that stuff works. What I don't see is any hint about the promised Load Balancing. I hope(d) that the Client connects to always one IP and is then told to in fact use one of the two servers, but that is not happening. What is needed to get the Load Balancing feature working? Both servers have been added with ldap.addserver. Regards, -- .''`.
