Call logout script

Hi All: Is there a way to call a logout script (i.e., one that is specific to each user upon ending a session)? In Ubuntu Server 10.4 we've tried various things including .bash_logout and /etc/gdm/PostSession/Default either performing a command or calling .bash_logout. The "/etc/gdm/PostSession/Default" works if we log in directly, so assume this has something to do with xsession(?) and hope there is a way in an x2go session where when the user logs out, a script gets called in the background. Thanks!

PyHoca-Gui in Windows 7 - Not working

I'm experiencing this error as well. i'll attach a log file from one of my login attempts. The attempt was without sound enabled, though. When sound is enabled, it seems that Pulseaudio gets stuck in a loop of some sort, repeating: Feb 27 08:02:07 fleten-01 pulseaudio[29396]: [pulseaudio] main.c: User-configured server at localhost:30002, refusing to start/autospawn. about once every three seconds. X2goserver on Ubuntu 10.04.4 server...can't login.

Hi ! I try x2go on different computer (Ubuntu 11.10 desktop, Debian Squeeze, Debian testing) and all works flawless. But on one server, Ubuntu 10.04.4, I always have this error on the windows client: “The remote proxy closed the connection while negotiating the session. This…” The error in the log: “Loop: PANIC! The remote NX proxy closed the connection. Loop: PANIC! Failure negotiating the session in stage '7'. Loop: PANIC! Wrong version or invalid session authentication cookie.” I try to uninstall and reinstalling several time, but no success. I installed from: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/x2go/ppa/ubuntu lucid main Thanks for help ! Danny Bélisle

x2gothinclient w/o pxe

Hi all, A cursory reading of the online lit I found relating to x2gothinclient seems to require that the stations all pxeboot... I don't want thinclients that pxeboot.. what I need is a minimal OS that is setup to autologin to X and then pyhoca-cli to the x2go-server... can the x2gothinclient packages do this say on a minimal debian install for the thinclient.. ? Since I did not see this capability, I already built from scratch a minimal Debian 6 that does an autologin into X using gdm/matchbox wm, and then created a script that force loops a username/pw graphical dialog using yad (zenity fork)... suffice it to say this works well... but I'm thinking if x2gothinclient already had the capability to do this then I did it all for nought.. except it was definitely a good exercise... The steps and scripts that I did do make this pxe-less x2g0 thin-client/kiosk follow ... I'm sure this can be quite improved... actually the main thing I'd like to improve is to have the matchbox wm/X on the local thin client be aware when there is no activity in the x2go session, and if no activity, then kill or suspend the pyhoca-cli session, thus going back to the yad login prompt, but I haven't found a way to do this (normal logout of the x2go session of course works fine and brings you back to the yad login prompt)... I think the problem is that matchbox wm/X always thinks there is activity when the x2go session is logged in/active, even when there is no activity in the x2go session itself... Any thoughts on any of the above would be appreciated! Steps/scripts etc for x2g0 thin-client/kiosk: OK so I pretty much used the guide from: http://www.alandmoore.com/blog/2011/11/05/creating-a-kiosk-with-linux-and-x… and went from there... But even without that feature this works real nice as a non-pxe x2go thin-client station. Anyway this is all probably very messy and amateurish, but I am not exactly a programmer or very proficient bash scripter so.. :) Also I might be missing a few steps and if any of the above does not make sense please advise and I'll try to see if I missed something in the steps given above... X2Go TCE with new splash

Hi all, I have added a much nicer boot splash to the X2Go Thin Client Environment. I also added background support for X2Go Client withint the X2Go TCE. (X2Go Client has had the --background option for a long time already, now it is being used within the TCE by default). You have to build your thinclient chroot from scratch (x2gothinclient_create) and run x2gothinclient_preptftpd again. Backup /srv/tftp and /opt/x2gothinclient before doing this. Feature request: Import/export of session profiles

Hello all I'm employed in a small consultancy company, primarily oriented towards privat schools and their IT needs. When we contact a school, we would like to give them a login to a hosted server via x2go, so they can have a taste of the desktop without a big commitment. Try before you buy, if you will The thing is, Schoolboard members, who decide on this, are somewhat hesitant to read through a guide on how to type in the relevant information themselves. It would be easier for them if they could import a session file that we sent along, using the GUI (i think you can already do this from command line. Not sure though) Also, being able to import and export in general just seems like a nice thing to have. How difficult would it be to implement? FW: Blank x2go client screen

Hi, I have been trying to get X2go working for over a month now without success. The last two requests for help on this list have not been answered. Do you folks recommend that I move on to another solution or continue to wait? I have used NX on Fedora and was very pleased, so I would like to stick with an NX protocol. I am now on Ubuntu and NX is no longer active while X2go is (active doesn't mean much though if it doesn't work). Recommendations? But even with those problems, I can still connect with the newer versions. I just tested 3.99.0.4, and I could connect (but it still have problems, most notably it freezes when trying to play most youtube videos). Anyway, I use XFCE, and I choose "Custom" in the client, and give it the command "/usr/bin/startxfce4" and it gives me almost the same startup messages as you posted, but it does connect and allow me to use the desktop normally (except all the clients have a bug where it sets the Windows window size too small when you choose a custom resolution, say 800x600, the windows client sets the outer dimensions of the window to 800x600 but of course the windows title bar takes up 25-30 pixels, so the window ends up being too small to display an 800x600 desktop). Mike PyHoca was also updated and now it won't load and gives me a message: *pyhoca-gui[9111] (PyHoca-GUI) WARN: the current release of PyHoca-GUI does not support client configuration * It did work before I updated this week. To update I used the Ubuntu repository info from the x2go-wiki: http://wiki.x2go.org/wiki:x2go-repository-ubuntu $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:x2go/stable $ sudo apt-get update The x2goclient version is *3.99.0.6-0-144-oneiric* As I'd mentioned my laptop hasn't been updated and it still connects fine with both x2goclient & pyhoca to the same server AND on my desktop which was updated I CAN successfully connect to the server using just SSH. I tried to find some troubleshooting guide on the wiki that would at least point to where log files might be but couldn't find anything. If there are some troubleshooting steps posted somewhere for x2go I'll use them to see if I can figure out what's going on. thanks. I have seen doing google searches that there are several posts in the past of people using x2go that are posting the same error message. Never saw anyone post an answer to those inquiries suggesting how or if they fixed it. Here are some of the other people that have posted the same error message with their x2go (although not all are ubuntu based) From the dates on these posts though I don't think they were using the same version of x2go ?? http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.linux.terminal-server.x2go.user/301 I have already tried the same steps Paul van der Vlis tried in the above post dated in November 2011. - purging x2goclient from system & reinstalling - tried connecting to a different x2goserver and it did not succeed (whereas Paul's did) I *can* reach both of my x2go servers with ssh from this client and I can reach BOTH of them from my laptop with the older x2goclient and pyhoca.
