Can Only Keep One Session at a Time

I am only able to keep one session of x2go open at a time. When I start a new client, the first session terminates by itself. I restart it, and the other session terminates. These are to two separate hosts. On both ends is Debian Testing, kept current. Keyboard layout settings in client not taken into account

Hello, Does X2Go currently map keyboard layouts correctly? The client has a field to set keyboard layout. But changing it to the client machine's layout does not work. The US layout is still active. X2go server "Wheezy stable branche" ?

Hello, The last time X2go is very alive with many new versions. Nice! But sometimes new versions introduce new issues. That's a problem in production environments. Maybe we could indroduce a new "stable" branch, together with the coming Debian Wheezy, for usage in production environments? With only security fixes, and eventually some very little other fixes? (For me it's not really needed that the support is all the livetime of Wheezy. I mean, there could come a next version with at some point, but it's important that there is enough time to test it.) News on the libcairo problems?

Hi guys, I'm a happy X2go user, using it every day on a Debian (testing) with nightly X2go packages. As many others, since some time I'm hit by the libcairo update and the sluggishness (however this isn't critical for me personally) and, more important to me, the broken glyphs on session resume. I don't want to whine or complain, just ask whether there are any news on this problem. Thanks, Enrico -- Not sent from my smartphone.

TC Display Resolution

Hallo X2Go users, We are running X2Go in a TCE environment on debian squeeze. Three types of thin clients are in use: 1) Shuttle X27D, Atom 330, Intel 945GC ICH7 chipset, Intel GMA950 2) Shuttle XS35V2, Atom 525, Intel NM10 Express chipset, Intel GMA3150 3) Shuttle XS36V, Atom D2700, Intel NM10 Express chipset Intel GMA3650 With the standard kernel 2.6.32-686, we didn't manage to run higher resolutions than 1280x1024 on all of them, neither on the greeting screen nor on the Gnome desktop (Ubuntu 10.04). I embedded kernel 3.2.0 in the boot environment. With it, the Shuttle X27D works fine with a resolution up to 1920x1080, but the preferred fanless XS35V2 and XS36V boxes still do not work with higher resolutions than 1280x1024. You will find further informations in the attachment, The two graphics GMA950 and GMA3650 are considered. Log's from GMA3150 look similar to the GMA3650 ones. The error message "(EE) open /dev/fb0: No such file or directory" in the file "Xorg.0.log-GMA3650" is obvious, also I don't understand way it happened. Does someone have a hint how to change the configuration, so that the nice fanless boxes will work in higher display resolutions too, up to 1920x1080? Hi, I upgraded the server ( debian squeeze ) and now no-one can do client side printing. I cant check the spool dir as chown / chmod dont work on the seesion dir. does anyone have a fix for this? I have tried the latest x2go client and pyhoca with no success. Kind Regards, Kris.

The Windows version of PyHoca-GUI will be available within the next 48 hours. The new PyHoca-GUI and Python X2Go versions are mainly bugfixing releases. The new X2Go Gnome(2) Bindings package fixes a problem with unmounting of client-side shares if the user's HOME is mounted via NFS. Dear all, Today Alex and I could eliminate another bug (introduced by ourselves) in nxagent/x2goagent. A couple of applications had lost their window decorations if the server is Debian wheezy / Ubuntu maverick or newer. Mostly affected were Qt applications. @FreeNX developers: Please note, this bug is also present in current FreeNX nx-X11 code (as found on Launchpad). We have removed the following patch from our patchset to get this fixed: http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=nx-libs.git;a=blob;f=debian/patches-refused/1… Still open issue: Unfortunately, there is still no fix for the resume problem in current nx-X11. Redhat, runlevels and visibility (x2goserver)

Hello, I am using x2go as an alternative to the overpriced commercial product from NoMachine. So far the road has been bumpy. Here is an honest description of problems I encountered when trying to install x2go server on an rhel6 machine: 1) Contrary to debian packeages, the repo to use for rhel 6 is not advertized on the main download page. This leads to attempts to install from source, when a binary package is in fact available. 2) Instructions for installation from source are unclear and outdated. GIT paths no longer work, configuration info is not sufficient etc. 3) Once the repo has been found, and installation does not work out of the box, because no package for fuse-sshfs.x86_64 available on RHEL6. Could you add that package to your repo? 4) Once installation is is complete, several things do not work as expected... 4.1) File permissions are incorrect: sudo: /etc/sudoers.d/x2go is mode 0644, should be 0440 4.2) On a server with gnome installed, but no complete X installation, creating a connection fails (session terminates during session start procedure with no clear error message). It turns out that with X installed and running (runlevel 5) x2go works properly. At runlevel 3, even with all packages installed it does not work. This differs from the free trial version of the commercial NX-server. Is this the way it is supposed to work or is there a service that is required and missing at runlevel 3? 4.3) In the install from source documentation, reference is made to int scripts needed which should run 'x2gocleansessions' in background/daemon mode. No such script is installed but connections still can function (at runlevel 5, see point 4.2 above). The X2Go project is a great initiative and fills a clear need in the community. With a little effort, you could increase your visibility, gain more traction and increase both your user and your developer bases. Regardless.. good work so far. I would appreciate an answer to the runlevel question (point 4.2). With the rest, take it as constructive criticism and act on it as you like. Dear all, The X2Go Project is proud to announce another X2Go component releases: - x2goserver (3.1.1.2) The new X2Go server packages will be available in our stable repositories (Debian, Ubuntu) within the next 24h. This release fixes several issues: (1) x2gocleansessions was broken quite a bit. Crashes occurred when sessions have been found running and x2gocleansessions tried to shut them down. Also the occuring zombie processes caused by x2gocleansessions and observed by some of you should now be gone. (2) With PostgreSQL as session db backend, the display would increment and increment and increment and... (3) Fixes session startup failures with pam_tmpdir.so being in use for user sessions. (4) Mount client-side shares to /tmp/.x2go-<user>/{media,spool,mimebox}. So we reduced this to one location. (5) NX session.log get now written to /tmp/.x2go-<user>/<session.log>.
