X2go not working on mac 10.10.5

Hi all, I have my X2Go client running flawlessly on my Windows. I tried to install and run X2Go in mac, but I am not able to do that. I installed X2go, also XQuartz as it is needed in mac environment. I opened XQuartz and then opened the X2Go client. It throws a weird error showing that it is running though, it doesn't show anything. Please help!! Thanks in advance!! Madura

Smart Card Forwarding

Hi all, I just came across an old message that is also important to me. The at that time suggested solution, USB-forwarding, is not possible for me. As this implies that the smartcard-reader is either locally OR remote available. What I need is a solution like citrix/thinlinc does, where the local client forwards the reader. My Java-based smartcard hold (PKI) keys/certs, that I need to use on the remote desktop. So no GPG-card. Five years ago, this was a feature that the people from NX had high on their agenda for their version 3, but was postponed time after time Is there any chance of doing this with X2go ? unable to connect to x2go server running in docker container

Hi all, My company has been using x2go for a while now. We are trying to setup an x2go server inside a docker container. I'll attach the docker build file. x2goserver is installed and sshd is running, and I'm able to ssh into the container, but unable to connect to x2go. When I connect from x2goclient, docker's sshd logs this line 'Accepted password for docker from <ip> port 56607 ssh2'. And the client keeps saying 'connecting' and gets stuck. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? Thanks, Sahas

KDE Screen Lock (kscreenlocker-greet) issues within X2GO

Hello: This is for the KDE4 folks... Has anyone encountered issues with getting the KDE Screen Locker to automatically launch from with an X2GO Session? >From within my X2GO / KDE Session, I am able to launch the KDE Screen Lock manually using either of the two commands: /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/kscreenlocker_greet --immediateLock qbdus org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver /ScreenSaver Lock However, after setting to "Start Automatically", the screen lock doesn't activate. Using "kcmshell4 screensaver", I set the following: Start Automatically after: 1 minute Require Password after: 60 seconds Screen Locker Type: Simple locker The screen lock will not activate, even after several minutes of inactivity. This appears to only be a problem if I am connected to my server using X2GO. If I connect via a FreeRDP session, the screen lock launches as expected. If I am logged in directly on the console, the screen lock launches as expected. If I replace the KDE Screen Lock system with "XScreenSaver", the screen lock also launches as expected. I have always been able to use the KDE Screen Lock system and I am still able to do so as long as I am not connected within an X2GO session. I would prefer to use the KDE Screen Lock system over XScreenSaver and I would prefer to use X2GO over FreeRDP - not being able to automatically launch the KDE Screen Lock is my only stumbling block. I am curious if other KDE4 users have experienced issues or do you use an alternative Screen Lock system such as "xscreensaver". My OS is Debian Jessie and my X2GO Server is version 4.0.1.19 Any thoughts or suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks! Jim

X2GoClient and AltGr-key on Windows

Hi everybody, I have recently bought myself a virtual RootServer and searched the web for a comfortable way to manage it. The virtual console window provided by my Webhost provider works, but it's only very basic. My setup: vServer: Debian Wheezy KDE-Full X2GoClient v.4.0.5.0 (Qt - 4.8.6) on Windows 7 (German keyboard) Keyboard settings: Modell: pc105 Tastaturlayout:de Variante:de My problem is that the AltGr-key is not working. Whatever settings I choose for the keyboard, pressing AltGr++ will result in "+" instead of "~". Same goes for "|", "@", etc. I am pretty sure it's no problem with the server because running a KDE editor (Kate) or a XTerminal in the console window my Webhost provider offers works fine: pressing AltGr++ and Space gives me the tilde "~" symbol. So, I assume the X2GoClient software does not send the correct keycode to the server. I have searched the web for hours to find a solution for this problem but to no avail. :-( Thanks for your support. Best Regards, Michael

Newbie question - cannot get desktop bindings to work on Ubuntu 14.04

Have installed x2go latest version on Ubuntu 14.04 basic server (runs as a VM in XenServer). Using Windows client to connect to the session, and it works fine. However, I do not see the folders which are (apparently) meant to show up allowing to access the desktop of the computer from which I start the session. I guess this is what is meant by "desktop bindings", although it's not at all clear in the documentation. Tried to start from Windows 7 and also from XP, no luck either way. I have now tried the 2 desktop environments for which a desktop binding install exists, both of which allow me to start a session, but none of them do any desktop binding: LXDE, MATE. What could go wrong here? Regards Peter Schulz

How to choose a desktop for a remote session?

Hi, I have a question about VcXsrv, not x2go explicitly, I hope that's ok to ask here. I'm running VcXsrv 1.17 on Windows 8.1 and want to display an app that runs on a Fedora 21 machine running Gnome. VcXsrv displays the app fine but the mouse doesn't work. I'm thinking that this is because I'm running Gnome and so tried installing KDE on the Fedora box. What I don't understand is this: is VcXsrv actually aware of which desktop is running and, if so, how would I force the app to run under KDE for the VcXSrv session? Best regards David

MATE desktop (Ubuntu Mate 15.10) cannot access in fullscreen mode

Hi All, I am running X2Go server 64-bit on Ubuntu Mate 15.10 from PPA repository: x2goserver: 4.0.1.19 x2goserver-extensions: 4.0.1.19 x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.19 This Ubuntu host is virtualized in ESXi 6.0 environment with open-vm-tools. I am using X2Goclient (X2Go Client v. 4.0.5.0 (Qt - 4.8.7) 64 bit) on Fedora 23 with Gnome 3 desktop. Here is the *problem*: - When I connect to X2Go server in fullscreen mode, both top and bottom panels are not accessible. The rest is OK. - When I connect in Window mode (various resolutions) I can access both panels but unfortunately cannot use Alt+Tab to switch programs inside the Ubuntu (it is getting intercepted by Fedora). Keyboard issues

Hello, I'm having the same issues as described here: http://lists.x2go.org/pipermail/x2go-user/2015-May/003171.html In my case its a OSX client (4.0.5.0 – from x2go.org) and a CentOS 7 server (4.0.1.19 – from EPEL). I'm trying to fire up a MATE session and the keyboard is not set properly when using tcsh as my login shell but it does work properly for bash. There wasn't a solution in the above thread, other than switching to bash. Has anyone found a workaround for tcsh? More info on my investigation. I would greatly appreciate any help in figuring out the problem or a good workaround. Thanks, Darby In either case I get a message on login that says: Error activating XKB configuration.
