Unshare local media

Hello, all. We have local media sharing working very well. However, is there a way to unshare local files once shared? There does not appear to be a unshare option in the file sharing dialog. We have tried going to session preferences and deleting the share but that does not seem to take effect until the next session. Thanks - John

x2goprint and user rights

Hi, I have just configured our first x2go server with thanks to the developers of x2go for solving some problems. I have just one issue with x2goprint. When printing as al local user everything works out of the box. When printing als a ldap-user the job prints but is not send to the client. The server is an Ubuntu server (9.0.4) and the user is member of x2gousers and fuse, just as mentioned in the docs. Can someone look into this (last) problem ? X2go server and hostname

Hi, When resuming or killing a session with the x2go client the client does this based on hostname of the server (eq x2goserver). When connecting through a vpn tunnel the hostname cannot be resolved. Can this be changed to a ip-based setup ? With kind regards, Jasper van der Marel Stone-IT

Reconnect to suspended session

Hello, I was previously using Freenx and was able to: 1. automatically reconnect to a suspended session (maximum one concurrent session per user) 2. automatically disconnect a session from a terminal when reconnecting from a new one. and having recently installed x2go on Ubuntu 9.10 I don't get the same results ( a new session is created each time). Is there some configuration to do (some equivalent of node.conf)? Thanks Olivier ARNAUD

smartcard without pin

Hello, i'd like to configure my x2goclient to use it with smartcards but without to enter the pin for it. I know the option to put the pins for cards to the GnuPG-Home-Directory. Where is that and what information and format are used? thank you, Falk

bash settings missing

Hello, all. Amidst our very successful testing of X2Go, we came across a permissions issue. Our environment sets a default umask of 007 rather than the standard 022. This was honored in our NoMachine environment. However, we recently started having access control issues where users could not edit each others' documents. Sure enough, the default rights were rw_r__r__ rather than rw_rw____. We checked our /etc/profile file in case something had changed and it is still a umask of 007. We did a direct ssh and touched a file and it gave correct rw_rw____ rights so it appears to be something specific to X2Go. From where does X2Go configure its bash environment? We are using Hardy on the X2Go server (in process of transitioning to Lenny) and Lenny on the X2Go Client. Thanks - John

Font mangling in X2Go

Hello, all. We recently changed our set up from NoMachine to X2Go. Lots of good improvements, e.g., sound and device sharing. However, the system fonts are all minuscule - very hard to read. We did set system fonts to 96 dpi in the client. This made no difference. Looking at x2gostartagent, it appears this setting is not used. If anyone knows what calls x2gostartagent, I'll see if we can come up with a patch. A quick grepping around /usr/bin, /usr/sbin, and /usr/lib64/x2go didn't reveal it. We found https://lists.berlios.de/pipermail/x2go-dev/2009-August/000082.html most helpful and, if we do manually edit x2gostartagent, it does work but we were hoping to avoid that. However, we are not seeing the results we expect by trying other methods. I suspect part of the problem is that we are not directly connected to the monitor so DDC is not detecting the monitor's resolution. With no data upon which to make a decision, X appears to default to 75x75. Thus, we thought we would set it in xorg.conf so that we'd have some consistency between the wildly varying resolutions our clients might encounter as they move from desk to desk. However, the setting seem to have no effect. This is our standard device section: Section "Device" Identifier "Configured Video Device" Driver "dummy" Option "UseEDID" "FALSE" Option "USEdidDPI" "false" Option "DPI" "96 x 96" EndSection I would think we'd need only the DPI option with the dummy driver. We also tried editing /etc/X11/Xresources/x11-common by adding Xft.dpi: 96.0. This did not work. We then created a ~/.Xresources file with the same setting. That had an interesting effect. It did not affect the desktop icon labels in KDE but the font in Konsole was now correct. However, when we did xdpyinfo | grep resolution in Konsole, it still thought it was 75x75! Is there anyway to get consistent and usable font sizes without manually editing x2gostartagent? Thanks - John

how to config logging

Hello, I just installed on Debian Lenny and I am trying to get X2go client 3.01-2 in Win XP Pro To work and can't find any way to debug it. No logs on server or client seem to be configured ? Any advice would be great. Thanx -ALF Failure Is Not An Option (unless the power goes out)

Fwd: X2GO Black screen

Dear Heinz, We are trying to setup a X2Go server in a kerberos/ldap environment. I have mailed earlier we did have some problems with homedirs on a samba/cifs share. Now we are testing with local homedirs for the time being. When I log in as a local user (local homedir,not in ldap and no kerberos ticket) I get a GNOME desktop When I log in as a ldap user (local homedir,user in ldap and kerberos ticket) I get a black X2GO Window . It looks like X2GO will not forward X sessions to the client. Could you (or anybody else) please help me to get the environment working ? Many thanks in advance, Jasper van der Marel Stone-IT
