hi list-folks, what kind of home dir setup does x2go expect/support. 1. Scenario I tried... My default scenario: homes rest on an NFS server, homes are mounted as NFS homes with kerberos security (sec=krb5i or sec=krb5p). Everything seems to work fine apart from x2go printing (I mentioned this issue in another posting). 2. Scenario I tried... I have two x2goservers, tied together with postgres, but without explicit x2go LDAP tweaks. Each server has its own homes, only real data (no configs) is shared via Autofs-NFS in /home/<user>/MyDocuments. x2goplugin: minor suggestion/wish

Hi Heinz, 1. is it possible to configure the x2goplugin in a way that after a session is over the login dialog appears instantly again. Currently, I have to press on ,,Neue Verbindung'' to get the login window back. If there is no possibility for this yet, it might be a nice feature (e.g. as config option). 2. Is it also possible to offer a list of different session types within the x2goplugin-login-dialog (e.g. offer to select KDE or GNOME) from within the same x2goplugin-URL? Hello all new to the list, I just wan't to comment on a number of complaints about the "needed membership" to write to the mailing list "x2go-dev". At the moment you can only write to the list, after you've registered your email address. This is done, because if everybody can write to the list we would receive a lot of spam. I have to delete really a lot of "non accepted/hold" messages per day which are normally spam only. I can understand, that not everybody wants to register to such a service - but the very popular alternative "forum" needs registration too. I need to write about this issue, because there are complaints about the level which must be taken to send informations to our project/community. I'll describe how to handle the list in our new wiki, and I'll definitly promote the service of gmane (making a list look like a forum). Heinz

x2go maemo right mouseclick

Hello, when using x2go on my N810 (Diablo) I often miss the mouseclick (righthand) to open context-menus. In my rdesktop-sessions I can use the Menu-key of the N810. How is this realised under x2go for maemo? -- sincerely yours Karl-Wilhelm Ahlborn

We get this problem quite a lot in our server racks using KVM switches where the keyboard will get out of sync with the desktop. Some of the KVM's have you depress both Shift keys at the same time to toggle things back in sync. Num Lock is a different story. Sometimes you just have to quickly press it until it gets back in sync. I mention this because this same type of problem appears to affect x2go as well from what you were saying. Hello, all. We have had numerous complaints about CAPS lock and NUM lock getting out of sync between the physical and virtual desktops. We at first attributed it to accessing the same virtual desktop from potentially different physical desktops. Upon further investigation we see the following: When the lock is toggled from the virtual desktop, the change is reflected on both virtual and physical desktops When the lock is toggled from the physical desktop, the change is reflected only in the physical desktop; it has no effect on the X2Go session. This puts the locks out of sync. If the user then realizes their lock is not on in the virtual desktop and then toggles it in their virtual desktop, it also toggles in their physical desktop which now keeps them out of sync. I would imagine this is a challenging problem to solve but is it possible for the X2Go client to detect a CAPS/NUM lock toggle even when the X2Go desktop does not have focus and reflect that through to the X2Go desktop session?

Heinz, If I may enquire for a second, what should we put in the server.x2go file? I've got the plugin files on my webserver and I'm just getting a big outline box on the page. The plugin notice is working and then the user can install the plugin but after that just the big outline appears. thx, Gerry

Heinz, I would hope people would understand the huge amount of work it takes especially for a small team to maintain the communication. Gmane is really excellent and you can choose which format that you like to view the content. So a mailing list can look like a blog, a forum, a newsfeed, etc. x2go is looking good in the latest versions. Looking forward to testing the new release when it is ready. High Performance SSH/SCP - HPN-SSH

Hi all, Was reading about how to increase SSH performance and I came across this. Would this help in speeding up X2GO in anyway are just a waste of time? Also in there is a link to tuning network performance too just wanted to see if it would be of any help. Tks in advance Eric
