Hi Mike, using deb http://packages.x2go.org/debian wheezy main as source, apt-get install x2gothinclient gives The following packages have unmet dependencies: x2gothinclient : Depends: x2goclient (>= 4.0.1.2-0~) but 4.0.1.1-0~x2go1+wheezy~main~427~build1 is to be installed Is that intentional, having a x2gothinclient in the wheezy repo that requires x2goclient from what I guess is heuler? -Stefan

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): $ rpm -q x2goserver x2goclient x2goserver-4.0.1.6-5.fc19.x86_64 x2goclient-4.0.1.1-1.fc19.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. run x2goclient. Configured for default keyboard pc105/us 2. connect to x2goserver 3. hit delete key Actual results: Delete key will actually delete. Bug#372: x2goadmin writes to users homes

Package: x2goserver Severity: serious Hi, my understanding of the x2goadmin code [code], end of sub add_user, is that the code tries to write the sql password in users homes. This will fail for installations that have the user homes on NFS with the option "rootsquash" mounted. I set the severity to "serious" because I imagine that this is a rather common scenario. Also, this approach has another problem: Imagine you want to give access to the unix group "staff"? According to the documentation, you can use the options "--addgroup" and "--rmgroup" for this. What if a new employee joins the company later and wants to use x2go? In this case you need to call x2godbadmin for this new user again, which is suboptimal. Do we really need an x2gouser

Hi, can someone please remind me again why we need a sqlite database that is shared for all users? It allows users to see what other users are currently having running sessions, which I frankly don't consider very important. It could even be considered a privacy issue. If there isn't a good reason for a shared database, why don't we have x2go users have their own sqlite database in their home directory? This would allow to get rid of the x2go user and all suid/sgid complexity that comes with it. Background, I'm trying to have my new employer deploy x2go, and I'm currently having trouble to explain this point. I understand that the current printing implementation requires the x2goprint user, but that's not an issue right now. Thanks, and greetings from NYC! -- regards, Reinhard

Questions about Xsession/Xsession.d handling

In the Fedora x2goserver package, I've packaged the /etc/x2go/Xsession* files as part of the main package. This script exits successfully and so $cmd$args is never executed. It looks like something in Xsession is supposed to run $STARTUP, but nothing is configured to do so. Are users expected to create their own script to do this? Part of the confusion for me is that there is no /etc/X11/Xsession.d in Fedora, so I'm not sure what is meant to be there. By default most files and folders related to Xsession config are symlinks to the corresponding file/folder in /etc/X11.
