Hey guys,
Rémi, DonMartio and me made the Qt6 port ready to release. Currently it resides on https://github.com/usergeorge/x2goclient/tree/qt6_port . I really would like to make an official version 4.2 out of this.
But first I cannot upload the code to the X2Go gitlab site for your review. And second the silence in the mailing list gives me the idea that the former developers have moved on and there is no active development happening here any more. Or maybe it is just life, we all get older and have got different priorities.
But even if we maybe won't make further development of the functionality of X2Go, I like to keep this package maintained to Qt6, Qt7 and so on.
So this is the question to the community:
How do we get an official X2Go Qt6 release uploaded to the official X2Go website?
Has this project enough life to build a base for further development?
Or is it OK to release maintenance versions of X2Go on GitHub?
Please give me your thoughts, critics, flames and praises.
Happily awaiting answers
best regards
Jörg
Dear list,
sorry, I tried to push the Qt6 port to git@gitlab.x2go.org:x2go/client/x2goclient.git but it didn't work.
No pushing a branch to the main repo
git push --set-upstream origin qt6_port
remote: You are not allowed to push code to this project.
No forking and pushing to my personal repo

In which way do you like to get the code?
Didn't try but I figure I'm not allowed to push to the "master" branch?
best regards
