Bug#532: python-x2go / pyhoca-gui: Windows PulseAudio 3.0 and later fail to start

Package: python-x2go Version: 5.0.0.0-preview This is basically bug 422, but applied to pyhoca-gui via its python-x2go code. The details are a little bit different. pyhoca-gui and python-x2go do not override %USERPROFILE% for example. However, the same symptoms occur. I am about to check in a fix. It will not include the logic to be safe with PulseAudio 0.9.6, so it will break compatibility with 0.9.6. That logic would need to be ported from QT/C++ to Python2. However I deem that compatibility breakage appropriate because: 1. Compatibility with PulseAudio 1.1 will be retained. 2. There has been no reason to ship x2goclient 4.0.2.x with PulseAudio 1.1 or 0.9.6 (rather than 5.0), other than the 1 XP-specific bug #526. (Which I have already commited a fix for in x2goclient 4.0.2.1's previews anyway.)

In preparation for the upcoming release of X2Go Client 4.0.2.1, a new preview build (pre03 instead of pre01 or pre02) of X2Go Client for Windows is available to download under: http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/previews/4.0.2.1/ It is based on commit 6fe3731. http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=x2goclient.git;a=commit;h=6fe37310f2811e1ca90… With the following 2 commits reverted via the "cherry-pit" process on my local git repo. The 2 commits are still present in the official x2goclient git repo, and in the nightly builds. Bug#529: X2Go crashes X on SL6.4 from SL6.4 client

Package: nxagent Version: X2Go 4.0.2.0 The issue is that, after xterm window is launched, any attempt to use the keyboard in that xterm causes the xserver to die and the x2go session to terminate. This happens with emacs as well. Both tested while using the icewm-session desktop. The x2go program doesn't crash. In the changelog (and the commit message): - Fix "fullscreen" mode on Windows 7 with several monitors. You mean 2 or more monitors, correct? If so, the text should be changed to: - Fix "fullscreen" mode on Windows 7 with multiple monitors. Because literally, "several" means "more than 2," or "more than 3", depending upon the definition. In preparation for the upcoming release of X2Go Client 4.0.2.1, a preview build of X2Go Client for Windows is available for download under: http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/previews/4.0.2.1/ It is based on commit 093543e (which fixed bug #522) and the default build is the same as the nightly build 2014.06.27 (except for the updated version string in add/remove programs and the filename.) Bug#496: Some Investigation

I just tried out VcXsrv-xp 1.14.3.2 on its own, not with X2Go. I launched an XDMCP session using "XLaunch" in "One large window" mode. I also tried out Cygwin X11 on its own. I ran "X -query <hostname>", which appears to be the same as what I did in XLaunch. Results: Whether I am at the gdm login screen, or I am logged into the gnome2 session (centos 6.5), VcXsrv does not respond to ctrl+alt+F. Conclusion: ctrl+alt+F must be an X2Go-specific feature, not a common Xwin feature.
