Bug#989: pyhoca-gui fails to fall back to Gtk-2.0 notifications (pynotify)

Package: pyhoca-gui Version: 0.5.0.5-0x2go1+git20160128.1329+jessie.main.1 Dear maintainers, I believe commit e44e848415eff3e4dab69e990adfc447e79143f8 which introduced GTK3 notification support broke GTK2 notification support fallback. The problem was not present in 0.5.0.4 I believe the problem lies in this import construct in pyhoca/wxgui/notify.py which will fail the same way even when put alone in a file try: from gi.repository import Notify as _Notify except ImportError: import pynotify as _Notify I think the problem is that even if the GTK3 Notify module is not available, many GTK3 libraries get loaded and then the pynotify import fails with ImportError: could not import gobject (could not find _PyGObject_API object) This is the same exception I see when running pyhoca-gui. I think some more sophisticated GTK version selection mechanism is needed, one that would not start loading conflicting libraries. As a workaround for now I just removed that GTK3 import on my system. X2go on EPEL6 outdated

Hi, At my new employer, I've convinced our system administrators to give x2go a shot. They noticed that it is included in EPEL6 and installed it on CentOS6 workstations. This test went pretty well so far. Unfortunately, that installed version 3.5 of x2go, which as I understand it is not the best impression that we can make. We deployed it with the sqlite back end and I noticed that the cleansessions daemon appears to crash from time to time. This is very annoying in particular given that we reboot our login nodes about once to twice a year and the effects are rather unintuitive to debug. My hope is that x2go 4 is more resilient here (but I admit that I didn't check myself). In any case, I suppose it is in everyone's best interest to prefer a newer version of x2go than currently in EPEL6 (cf. https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/x86_64/repoview/x2goagent.html) - because otherwise, EPEL user are not going to receive any work towards getting bugfixes. What are your thoughts on this and how would you guys advise here? Many greetings from NYC, Reinhard

Package: pulseaudioVersion: all Hello, After a lot of time without using pulseaudio sound on x2goclient, on win 7 – 64 bits, I think I have find the solution (looking on internet). The problem is that the mixer is not enabled on windows. Go to Control Panel –> Sound –> Sound devices –> Record –> Right button –> Show hidden devices –> Mixer activate I hope this could help someone. regards, Antonio Ignacio Cabrera Santana

Package: x2go Version: 4.0.5.0 (client for Mac), server: x2goversion x2goagent: 3.5.0.32 x2goserver: 4.0.1.19 x2goserver-extensions: 4.0.1.19 x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.19 When I try to use Virtualbox over x2go the keyboard layout is changed. It works fine for the host OS, but is incorrect in the virtual machine itself. The layout keyboard works correctly under VNC. Thank you Tomasz

I have been able to work around this issue by editing the /usr/bin/x2goresume-session script.
