hardware x2go performance relation

Hi all, I am using x2go to connect from a Fedora 39 machine to an RHEL8 server but somewhere in the last month and a half or so the shared folders stopped working. Unfortunately, I wasn't around between where it was still working and when I found it no longer working earlier this week so I'm not sure what update happened that broke it. What's even more weird is that the spool DOES mount and works just fine but the shared folders are noping out, and I believe they use the same mechanism ? The only real error I'm seeing is on the client: 'rexec line 2: Deprecated option UsePrivilegeSeparation' which appears to be something that's been warned about a few years ago how it might completely break things at some point in the future ? Not sure if this is the culprit though as it is Deprecated and not Error. Client is fully updated FC39 X2Go Client v. 4.1.2.2 (Qt - 5.15.13) Server is RHEL 8.10 and has 4.1.0.3-17.el8.1.noarch for the x2go rpm's. KDE is being used by both client and server and only official packages are in use. grab keyboard (dwm)

Hi, I'm testing out x2go, so far so good. Seems to work better for full session setups then xpra (I didn't test rustdesk yet). I was wondering how the session could 'grab the keyboard'. I'm using a tiling wm, dwm, which is keyboard / keybindings based. My client machine also runs dwm and currently it is that dwm who is picking up the keybindings. How can I make the x2go session react on the dwm keybinding and how to switch between those (like you can in a virtual machine afaik). Thanks in advance, /s

Hi, I can't troubleshoot this issue. I have removed X2goclient from the Debian Stable (Bookworm) install, including all config, but when installing it fresh, it still does crash with a Segsev, is this bug known? I can't use X2go anymore on Linux, it just fails, without a way to find out what breaks. This issue has blocked me for many months now, it works on Windows, but most of my machines are running Linux. Anybody have an idea what I can try next? ssh connection through bastion host

Hi, I am trying to connect with the Mac x2goclient (v4.1.2.2) through a bastion host*, essentially as a version of the openssh '-J' option. My setup in ~/.ssh/config works for ssh, but it looks like the x2go client (libssh? Where is that in the source tree?) does not look at config. With an ssh proxy connection configured in x2go, I can see a login on the bastion host, but nothing on the target machine. And what logs x2go has are too quickly replaced by a user/passwd login screen to be readable. How can I have the x2go client log to a file? How to change X2Go MaxClient setting?

1) Maximum number of clients reached So, I'm one of those users that have a lot windows and applications open at the same time for a long period of time. So I reach very easily the default Xorg 256 limit and when I try to open a new Xorg program I get the following error: Maximum number of clients reached . As per a quick search in a local system with Xorg this would be fixed by adding a file changing this limit to either 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024 or 2048. Something like: printf 'Section "ServerFlags"\n\tOption "MaxClients" "512"\nEndSection\n' \ > /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-maxclients.conf and then restarting the Xorg server. 2) X2Go - And Xorg conf files As I am using X2Go I know that I'm not dealing with the usual Xorg server but with an improved one based on older Xorg upstream releases. I was expecting to find an /etc/something/xorg.conf.d/ where I could create a similar .conf but I haven't found any of this. At least, not explicitly documented. If I'm being honest I'm not very sure if it's nxagent, nxproxy or x2agent the one process which it's an actual Xorg server. 3) How to change MaxClients for X2Go? So my question is: - Can I change MaxClients with a conf file or do I have to recompile some program/library ? - If so Where do I create that conf file? 4) X2Go / Library versions This is Debian 12 (Bookworm) using distro's own packages. I also have old .list file disabled. So that means that in the past I used the http://packages.x2go.org/debian repo. Dear $ALL, As stated in the subject line, X2Go: The Gathering 2024 will take place at Linuxhotel, Essen, Germany, from Friday afternoon, 2024-06-28, to Sunday afternoon/evening, 2024-06-30 and will, again, be a three-day "work and play" (coding, chatting, sightseeing, socializing) event. X2Go: The Gathering is the annual event where users, admins, and developers (including the i18n volunteers) of X2Go meet face to face, to discuss current X2Go-related issues, fix open bugs, and have a good time getting to know each other. As there is some overlap between X2Go, Arctica, and orca e.V., you can expect to see members of those groups as well. After 4 years spent "in exile" (with a skeleton crew of volunteers meeting at shackspace in 2020, and going completely virtual in the years 2021-2023) due to the pandemic situation, we are finally returning to a full real-life event at Linuxhotel (though we will be streaming/recording our sessions, so you can join in remotely as well). Note that while we do not require masks to be worn, it is still recommended and endorsed, especially in indoor areas. At the time of writing this invitation, and using some educated guesses regarding under-reporting and wastewater analysis, Covid infection rate in Germany is roughly somewhere between 1 out of 1000 and 1 out of 500 people per week. *ATTENTION!* If you want to join us *and* want to sleep in one of the hotel rooms at the Linuxhotel, we need the number of beds and nights you want to reserve, as well as *your full name* (as printed on your passport) and *your nationality* by *2024-06-07* *23:59:59* *CEST*!!!
