X2Go client Authentication Issue

Dear X2Go Support Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to seek assistance with an authentication issue I am experiencing with the X2Go client on my Windows machine. I am using X2Go Client to enter a linux server using SSH key authentication. However, I encountered an issue where, after providing my SSH key passphrase and successfully logging in, I was prompted for a password once more. This second prompt seems unnecessary, as I am using key-based authentication that works flawlessly through the Command Prompt. SSH keys are for passwordless login in servers. The command I am using through Command Prompt is "ssh username@ipaddress" and it works just as fine, without asking for an extra password (just the passphrase). Could you help me with this? Hello! I have server on debian based image, launched in domain controller (Active Directory) via IPA . I'm using x2go for published apps and if I login via local user - everything works just fine! If I use domain account for connecting via x2go client - error occures "chmod: cannot get access to file '~DOMAINNAMEuser_name/.x2go/ssh/key.M15508': there is no such file or catalog" Right before connecting - there is indeed no such file in that directory, but after this error - file generating anyway and everything works just fine! Question is : How I can prevent occurrence of this error ? Thanks!

Verifying that servei is a known host, base64 error

Hello One of my colleagues is having the following error message, when trying to open connection from Windows 11 client version 4.1.2.2 to Ubuntu 20.04 server. Title: Authentication failed. <ip>:<port> - Verifying that server is a known host: base64 error I asked ChatGPT and it instructed to remove C:\Users\<username>\.ssh\known_hosts file. That file was removed, but it did not help. The next ChatGPT instructed was to remove this key from Windows registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham\PuTTY\SshHostKeys There was no such key. User removed the X2go installation and installed it again, no help. This same Ubuntu 20.04 server is used by other users without any problems. How to proceed from here? Thanks, Kalle

suspend does not work anymore in 4.1.0.6 Debian

Hello list, This is an older problem I sent to this list a few months ago IIRC. I have two Debian versions which I run in Debian Trixie (Testing): 4.1.0.3-7+deb12u1 4.1.0.6-1.1+b1 The 4.1.0.6-1.1+b1 version is the actual version in Debian Trixie. The 4.1.0.3-7+deb12u1 version is about a year old. What happened: When upgrading to 4.1.0.6-1.1+b1 session suspend does not work anymore. When I suspend the session, the GUI says "suspending" and finally shows "suspended". When resuming, no screen appears and when retrying to connect, the GUI says "session already running, to forcefully resume it, suspend it first" Downgrading to 4.1.0.3-7+deb12u1 resolves the issue. I run a custom desktop: /usr/bin/ssh-agent /usr/bin/wmaker Any ideas? Richard. -- richard lucassen http://contact.xaq.nl/

troubleshooting regolith 3 startup on ubuntu

Howdy, folks. I'm having inconsistent problems getting sessions to start on an Ubuntu 22.04 box. XFCE4 is always my smoketest but I daily Regolith 3 wherever possible. XFCE4 is working fine everywhere and R3 has been fine over x2go on various Debian, Pop_OS!, and even other Ubuntu versions but I have one 22.04 box where I get a black x2go session screen for just a few seconds and then it exits. Running the client in debug mode shows that it looks like it might be a voluntary disconnect from the x2go/SSH client side and a few other forums suggest its possible related to the following: Activated service 'org.freedesktop.systemd1' failed: Process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status 1\ndbus-daemon from the client side debug logs. I don't see the list archives available in any search engines but perhaps someone either has experience with similar problems and can chime in or can find threads of similar problems in their MUA cache and can point me to the proper month's archive? thx

x2go glx issue in Ubuntu 22.04

Hello, Worked with x2go and Ubuntu 20.04 with no issues with glx. Commands such as glxinfo glxgears worked. Using a Dell Poweredege Server, we have installed 22.04 and now commans like glxinfo, glxgears do not work connecting remotely to the server using x2goclient glxinfo name of display: :50 Error: couldn't find RGB GLX visual or fbconfig glxgears Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual Mesa 22.0 and higher seems to be the issue. Reading online, Ubuntu 22.04 no longer supports 'classic drivers' any longer. However, there is a 'mesa-amber' that could potentially resolve this? Has anyone had any success using mesa-amber and getting commands like glxinfo, glxgears to work in Ubuntu 22.04? I tried the suggested downgrading to Mesa 21 and that just opened up another can worms with dependency issues. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks, h.

how to connect an x2go client to a server over the internet?

Hi, I want to be able to give remote support via deskstop sharing over the internet. I have set up a linux computer for a friend. Now I want to be able to see and interact with his desktop while we are both sitting at our homes. Is this possible with x2go? As far as I understand I would need direct access to the x2go server running on my friends computer. How to achieve this over the internet? Thanks, Wolfgang

x2go Dropping keystrokes?

Setup - Linux server, Windows 10 client, LAN or 40G remote connection I have tried many different options in the connection setup with regards Connection options to no avail. I find that some keystrokes seem to have a higher incidence of being dropped or ignored while using the x2go connection. 'c', spaces, and a few others seem to fail to propagate thru the connection. It is not a mechanical keyboard issue, as I have tried several different keyboards and they all act the same. Connection does not seem to matter as some of the time I am using the client on a local LAN and others via a remote VPN connection. Anyone else ever seen this behavior?
