Big screen problem

Dear x2go-user, I bought a big 2560x1440 screen (big in my world). Remote system have a 1920x1200 screen. I tried to go full screen but noticed that I can't change the remote desktop resolution to more than 1920x1200. So I can't really go full screen. Is there something I haven't noticed? Where does that limit come from? Is it really the size of the remote physical screen or just coincidentally the same geometry? Now, that I'm practically forced to work in a window, I'm really missing a feature like there is in VirtualBox: You can grab mouse and keyboard into the virtual desktop. I'm mostly missing ALT-TAB functionality inside the remote desktop window. I wish that some day someone have the time and interest to code such a feature. Despite of those little annoyances X2Go have served me very nicely quite a long time now - thanks. -- Timo

Installing x2go client on Fedora 18

Hi Gang: I spent several hours over the last couple of days (successfully!!) installing x2go on Fedora 18 based on the tips provided at wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:installation:x2goclient For whatever reason, I needed to install a lot more packages. No RHEL5 x2goclient?

Since I can't install the x2goserver on RHEL5, I was hoping to at least install a client that will get some users to RHEL6/Ubuntu machines. When I try to yum install x2goclient I get a message that no x2goclient package exists. Sure enough when I browse the repo, there is no x2goclient package. I can't even install pyhoca-gui because it needs things from x2goclient (per the README at least). Anyone have any alternatives? -Kermit Short

I did some further testing, and the resume failures are indeed due to missing AFS tokens. When suspending a session, the SSH connection is closed, sshd will call pam_close_session(), which means that pam_krb5 and pam_afs_session will delete the user's ticket/token (resp.). The session therefore loses access to the home directory and appears to freeze up, preventing it from being resumed. Both pam_krb5 and pam_afs_session accept retain_after_close as a parameter, which disables the delete-on-close behavior. With this parameter set, it becomes possible to resume sessions, unless the AFS token has expired. This solves at least the case where the user reconnects quickly (eg. after a short network outage), but it still means sessions will become unresumable when left unused for a few days. I guess the only way to avoid this is to not store session data in the home directory. Can X2go be configured such that it uses eg. /tmp or /var/lib for this purpose?
