Hi Mike, thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately in main and heuler is only i386 and not i586 architecture subdirectory, in extra there is an i586. Not sure, for what i386 is good for, but standard opensuse 32Bit install is i586 Anyway I was able to add this repro by specifying the i386 subdir, but it does not contain x2goserver, only the clients... Killing the pulseaudio process and starting a new one without any options, I can play sounds from the command line in the tce - but of course not from inside the x2go-session because of missing rights. Notable differences to the last preview : o X2Go Client now localizes to different languages again. o Updated nxproxy from the current nx-libs bundle. o Might solve Xinerama issues (hopefully for real this time -- needs testing, as I do not have multiple monitors.) Preview of X2Go Client 4.0.4.0 for OS X available

Hi, I am happy to once again provide a preview version of what is hopefully to be included in the next upcoming release of X2Go Client. This version is based upon my bugfix/osx branch, branched off current master. Notable differences to the current 4.0.3.2 release: o Does not show an error message if a local SSH daemon is not running and Remote Printing/File Sharing support has been enabled. Instead, an sshd daemon is started explicitly for this session with user privileges. Configuration and authentication data is contained in ~/.x2go/.ssh and ~/.x2go/ssh for this daemon. o Improved error messages, including removing wrong ones, when XQuartz is not installed on the machine. o Completely new, automatic UNIX cleanup helper utility. X2Go Client now starts a new process which tracks its parent. Should the main process crash for any reason, the cleanup process terminates "zombie" processes started by the main process and commits suicide. This is important for killing started OpenSSH, PulseAudio servers etc. This feature is also available on Linux and *BSD. o Some non-critical error messages are now not blocking the client anymore. This allows for the session to start even though the error message pops up and is not confirmed. o Version is now exposed when using "Get Info" in Finder.app. Please report any regressions. Like last time, two versions are provided: one built on OS X 10.9, the other one built on OS X 10.6. Windows Decoration missing if windows is too large

Hi, I am using x2go with published applications. Now when I suspend a session and resume it on a smaller display, which is smaller as the application was before, the application is displayed full screen but without window decoration and there is no possibility to resize the application. If I resume on a bigger display again, the application displays normally including windows decoration. In addition when starting firefox or chromium I never get a windows decoration (I guess the application tries to start with a size larger as the display). All this happens on Ubiuntu 14.10.1, server 4.0.1.19 and http://code.x2go.org/releases/binary-win32/x2goclient/tmp/x2goclient-4.0.4.0 -2015.03.10-ffc56f3-setup.exe Is there a way to shrink the size of the application in such a case, so the windows decoration appears again? x2go thinclient - problem with audio and usbmount

Hi all, I installed successfully a x2go tce (debian wheezy, x2go-packages from backports) with mate-Desktop. However I can't get audio work: * audio works in local (non tce) clients connected to the server - but not on thin clients. * inside the thin client chroot the pulseaudio soundsystem is running, however if I try to connect as root with paply I get the same error. * If I try to play a sound file with paplay from a terminal inside the Mate Session I get the following error: 'Failed to drain stream: Timeout' Anybody of you have some hints for debugging this? X2Go stops working with Apple OS Upgrade

I upgraded my Mac to Yosemite on Friday, and X2Go stopped working this morning. I was told to delete and re-install Xquartz, which I did, but it still fails. Question 1 – where are the log files for X2Go? The error flashes on the screen and disappears too quickly for me to read – I think it is telling me my display host is invalid, but I’m not sure Question 2 – Is this a known problem with Yosemite? What do I have to do to fix it? x2go clients becoming vers slow over time

Hi, as already discussed on IRC, we experience a massive slowdown when over time when working with x2go. Time frame is about 4h or so. We tested both, pyhoca GUI and x2goclient. Happens to both clients. What we experienced is that the whole client system is slowed down! What do you suggest to look at when this happens? Do other people see the same? OS: Kubuntu 14.04 amd64 (client) Kubuntu 14.04 amd64, Xubuntu 14.04 amd64 (server) x2go: Latest stable versions via stable PPA. Thanks a lot and cheers, Matt

Hi, I am using x2go for a long time with x2goserver 4.0.1.15 on OpenSuSE 13.1 without problems, but there are no updated packages for OpenSuse As client I have windows x2goclient 4.0.3.2 running on windows 8.1 So I installed an Ubuntu 14.10 and the newest x2goserver packages: x2goversion x2goagent: 3.5.0.28 x2goserver: 4.0.1.19 x2goserver-extensions: 4.0.1.19 x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.19 Session resume does not work on the new machine. Session.log says: Session: Resuming session at 'Fri Mar 13 06:22:59 2015'. Info: Proxy running in server mode with pid '18931'. Info: Waiting for connection from 'localhost' on port '30001'. And after one minute: Info: Aborting the procedure due to signal '1'. Session: Display failure detected at 'Fri Mar 13 06:23:59 2015'. Session: Suspending session at 'Fri Mar 13 06:23:59 2015'. Session: Session suspended at 'Fri Mar 13 06:23:59 2015'. I tried to run x2goclient -debug but did not find the place where the log is written on window. Any idea what's wrong or how to debug this? New setup

Howdy everyone, I'm working on migrating a 20 workstation windows 2003 terminal server environment to x2go. I'm very excited. I'm going to be running a Dell R900 with 16 cores at 2.93 ghz and 128 megs of ram. I'll have between 500 and 800 Gb of disk space depending on the raid configuration. I'm leaning toward Ubuntu but I'm open to suggestions. My question for the forum is about the Linux distribution and suggested configurations. I have a test setup running with Ubuntu on an older server. The performance has been ok but when viewing videos on YouTube using the x2go client it's a little choppy. That's all for my ramblings. Problem with session broker in heuler Fedora 20 repo.

For the package maintainers; Situation: We have an old freenx server farm running RHEL 6 and freenx server software. This farm consists of 9 nodes and two load balancers. We are looking to switch from RHEL to Fedora 20 and x2go was selected as the best solution to populate the new server farm. We were really impressed with the client server performance and the activity of the project. Hello, Anyone has any idea how to get sound to work on X2go for a running session shared on on more than one computer. I start a session by choosing session type "KDE" on one computer. then on the other i going the same session by choosing "Connect to local desktop" on the first computer the sound works but on the the second one it doesn't any ideas how to solve this problem. win32 x2go client not resuming

Hello, I have just setup a new server running debian jessie with x2go server (4.0.1.18-0x2go1+git20141006.949+jessie). I have windows client 4.0.3.2 The first time I connect it all works. However on a subsequent attempt to resume it doesn't work. After entering password the client pops up the connecting dialog never outputs any text even though I have sow details checked. I also get the task bar popup saying it has connected although all options are greyed out. It appears to sit there forever at this point. Anyone got any ideas what this could be? Where can I look on windows for log messages from the client? Thanks Will

Questions about sessions

Hi, I feel awkward asking these since I am a developer. 1. What are the differences between a session that is "suspend" and a session that is "running" but disconnected? 2. With X2Go Client for Windows at least, sometimes I will connect to an X2go Server and I will see 1 running or suspended session listed in the Qt4 GUI. Other times, I connect and it automatically connect me to the existing session. What causes this behavior? PATH clobbered with X2Go client 4.0.3.0+

I'm using X2Go to connect to a GNOME session running on CentOS 6. With X2Go clients prior to 4.0.3.0 all is well. With clients 4.0.3.0 and above on both Windows and Linux I'm seeing a problem with the PATH environment variable: any changes to PATH made by scripts in /etc/profile.d are lost; all other environment settings made by these scripts are OK. Changes made to PATH in ~/.bash_profile are respected, so that's a workaround. Something about newer clients is breaking PATH: any clues as to what it might be, or how I can track down what's happening? Ron

intermitent behaviour: freezes on status connecting

Hi, I am using X2go 4.0.3.1 client on Windows 7 and the following version on a Centos 6.4 server: x2goagent: 3.5.0.27 x2goserver: 4.0.1.13 x2goserver-extensions: 4.0.1.13 x2goserver-fmbindings: 4.0.1.13 x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.13 X2go has been working stably for months but on average it takes me 2 attempts to resume a KDE session. Half the time I just get a "status: connecting" and no messages on the log window. I then have to restart the client. Is this a known problem or could people please suggest how to debug it? use ssh proxy with x2go firefox plugin

Hello! I'm trying to access a distant x2goServer where a x2go plugin is running with apache2. On this server some client computer with x2goPlugin is connected with reverse ssh. >From my own computer, with the application x2goClient, I succeed to be connected to the clients computers through my distant x2goServer and control remotely the clients computers connected to it. I copy the session file of my x2goclient inside the /var/www of my server, in the part x2goconfig and add "server= @Serverx2goIp". Then when I reach the web server of my x2goServer and launch the config It failed with the error 'connection timed out'. I tried to look at the package send, apparently the package send from my own computer with x2goclient are not the same as using x2go browser plugin. So my question is any idea why it not works? And also, is it possible to use ssh proxy of the session file with x2go browser plugin? It seems not. Best Regard. Nicolas.

PyHoca-GUI: Logon script for published apps

Hello, I'll would like to have some scripts run after login to the server (through PyHoca-GUI, neither an app or full desktop is autorun). (In the particular case, it should add keys to the kernel keyring for the given session so that the user is able to access network CIFS multiuser-mounts via systemd.automount just by accessing the mount point). What is the correct location to drop the script (bash)? I can see /usr/lib/x2go/extensions/post-start.d exists: is it intended for this purpose? If so, is it functional to use the equivalent structure in /etc/x2go (system-wide) or even /home/user/.x2go directories? I did manage to fix the bug with Pageant authentication (bug #767) after 0.5.0.4 was released.
