sharing folders

Hi, I am new to X2go... I'm trying to make a connection to a pure CentOS on VMware cloud from Windows. I'm impressed by the settings in the session manager but actually couldn't make the two big things I like the most to work: 1. File sharing 2. Client side printing support I tried sshfs with dokan successfully, so that's not the problem. My X2go client was downloaded today from x2go.org (latest_mswin-setup). Any ideas what to could I miss at the server, what on the client side... or what kind of other information should I write out (and probably it will do me good if the how to is included then too). x2gobroker: war of passwords

Hi, I am running x2gobroker with SSH proxy and right now users have to type: 1) broker username and password 2) desktop and username and password 3) proxy password A lot of typing for just a simple desktop connection! I've learned I can use ssh key autologin somehow (didnt try yet) so step 2 will be gone. Is there a way to have x2goclient reuse the broker password for the proxy connection or something else to remove the ssh proxy authentication without distributing private keys to the users? cheers Mathias

Mounting USB sticks and CD-ROMs on thin clients, sound

Hello, I am trying to set up an x2go server with thin clients (debian wheezy). For the most part, the clients are working fine - the boot time and speed is astonishing even with the low-power server hardware I need to use. Alas, there are a few important things I cannot get to work after days of googling and tinkering: 1) mounting local drives on the thin clients - When I insert a cd-rom, a little eject button appears in the lower right corner of the screen. However, I cannot see the files on the disc in /home/<user>/media/cd - When I insert a FAT formatted USB stick, nothing (visible) happens. Only in the local console can I see that a device has been attached, but nothing is mounted, and nothing shows up in /home/<user>/media/disk The x2gousbmount and x2gocdmanager are installed in the chroot, and <user> was added to the fuse group. Are there other prerequisite packages on the server that I could have missed? 2) Sound on the thin clients doesn't work - upon PXE boot, the sound card seems to be correctly detected; I checked alsamixer. Pulse connects correctly via TCP, but pactl lists no sound card. It seems that module-udev-detect fails to detect the sound card. I don't know how to get debug output because I cannot find where the actual command line (pulseaudio -D -n -L module-native-protocol-tcp [...] ) is generated in the chroot to add more debug output PulseAudio Manager reports "Default Sink: not set"; "Default Source: not set". Those issues are real showstoppers for a project I am trying to set up in Africa next week - I'd be really thankful for hints on how to solve them. Peter

no menu with gnome fallback

Hi all, A new install of ubuntu 12.04, all updated. Installed latest all dependencies, x2goserver and x2goserver-xsession Have multiple users so I am trying to set gnome fallback as the default desktop globally by modifying etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf Have this in there now : [SeatDefaults] #greeter-session=unity-greeter #user-session=gnome-fallback gnome-session --session=gnome-fallback The "greeter" line is a mystery to me? I've run it and commented it out. Doesn't seem to make a difference that I have noticed. Basically the gnome classic desktop loads but no menu or task bar. In the client I'm using custom desktop option with "gnome-session --session=gnome-fallback" and also gnome-session --session=gnome-session-fallback" I've got the screen size of the client set to 600X800. One odd behavior I noticed is that when the session is loading the window is, indeed, 600X800 but by the time it has fully loaded it has gone completely full screen. I tried lowering the resolution, which keeps it going to full screen, but there are still no top or bottom toolbars. I'm running Windows 8 on a Toshiba 64 bit laptop. OS X and proxy server option - can't connect

Hi All: I am using the proxy server option on x2go, and have gotten it to work on Windows and Debian, but not OS X and hope to get some help. In my tests: - I use the same server, same ssh keys etc. and connect from Windows and Linux (Squeeze) - from a command prompt on OS X, I can connect by issuing: ssh -X -A -t externaluser@externalIP ssh -A -X internaluser@internalIP - bash is the default shell on my Mac - however, when we try to connect via the x2go GUI, it gets stuck saying "Connecting" and goes no further until I close the session (for what it's worth, it's not a "forced quit" so I don't think the session has crashed, just won't connect). FYI - on linux, on the "client", I issue the following before trying to connect the first time on both keys and have tried this on OS X as well with "no joy": NewUserVar=newuser PathVar=/home/newuser/.ssh/newuserfolder chmod go-w /home/$NewUserVar chmod 700 /home/$NewUserVar/.ssh chmod 600 $PathVar/id_rsa ssh-add $PathVar/id_rsa Any suggestions? Has anyone else had this issue, figured it out? Thanks!

connection problem on Ubuntu 12.04

Hi all, I have a fresh install of ubuntu 12.04 where I installed x2go server. I have a laptop running Lubuntu 12.04 where I installed the client. I can ping the server from the client but cannot connect. The only error message I get is "Connection refused". I've re-installed both server and client a couple of times now. Help please!
