Hi list,
While folder sharing works fine using pyhoca-cli, it does not work at all with
x2goclient. This is what sshd says on the client side when trying to "share" a
folder from the gui:
May 8 13:55:43 uranus sshd[23908]: Connection from 127.0.0.1 port 51821
May 8 13:55:43 uranus sshd[23908]: Connection closed by 127.0.0.1 [preauth]
mount's output on the server side does not show anything interesting.
I am running Ubuntu precise (12.04), both on the client and the server.
Do you have …

Hello,
Is X2goclient working on Mac OSX? I read some messages that there are
keyboard problems. Not sure they are gone.
Here is such a message, with a link to another message:
http://www.mail-archive.com/x2go-user@lists.berlios.de/msg00632.html
When the problem is fixed, is this also the case for the Lenny version
of X2go? (I have a customer with Macs who does not want to upgrade
because the office will be closed in a few months.)
With regards,
Paul van der Vlis.

Hi,
we've encountered an issue where (at least) X2Go client 4.0.0.3 on
Windows can't resume certain sessions. If this has been discussed before
please point me to the relevant threads/bugs; I didn't find anything.
The behavior is as follows: The affected version of the client is able
to start new sessions, and also resume suspended sessions; however,
resuming sessions after some delay (a few hours) causes the client to
hang. Other versions of the client are then still able to resume this …
[View More]
session, but even when resuming and suspending the session with a
working client version, attempting to resume the session immediately
afterwards in an affected client causes it to freeze.
I've tried the following versions so far:
3.99.2.1 on Linux: works
3.99.2.2 on Windows: works (n.b. filename is x2goclient-3.99.2.1-setup.exe)
4.0.0.3 on Windows: affected
4.0.1.1 on Linux: works
Server side versions are:
x2goagent: 3.5.0.21
x2goserver: 4.0.1.6
x2goserver-xsession: 4.0.1.6
Can anybody confirm that this is something which has been fixed in
client 4.0.1? If so, when is there going to be a 4.0.1 client for
Windows? (In the meantime, we're downgrading our Windows users to 3.99.)

Hi Mike:
How are you? Another update...hope am making progress, but not there
yet. Let me know if it would help to send over copies of
x2gobroker.conf and the other configs?
Is it the case I am using the wrong backend, and don't know how to set
it to backend inifile? Thanks for the help(!)
1) Rebuilt server (using Squeeze) and incorporated nightly x2go builds
apt-get install -y x2goserver x2goserver-xsession
apt-get install -y x2gobroker-wsgi
apt-get install -y apache2 (apache fails …
[View More]until instill libapache2-mod-wsgi)
apt-get install -y libapache2-mod-wsgi
apt-get install -y x2gobroker-authservice
2) Checked versions
x2gobroker-wsgi: 0.0.3.0-0~x2go1+squeeze~heuler~20131002~558~build1
x2goserver: 4.1.0.0-0~x2go1+squeeze~heuler~20130731~779~build1
x2gobroker-authservice: 0.0.3.0-0~x2go1+squeeze~heuler~20131002~558~build1
3) Set backend to inifile
In x2gobroker.conf:
[inifile]
enable = false
session-profiles = /etc/x2go/broker/x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf
* have made various tweaks to x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf,
x2gobroker.conf, and x2gobroker-wsgi.apache.conf - have not touched
x2gobroker-wsgi.apache.vhost without noticeable difference in outcome.
4) When try to connect:
Not sure this matters, but on client get:
x2go-INFO-1> "Starting x2goclient..."
x2go-WARNING-1> "Can't load translator: :/x2goclient_en_us"
x2go-WARNING-2> "Can't load translator: :/qt_en_US"
And...
SSH - says inifile not enabled....(when try to connect first time, does
ask if I want to trust key and creates known hosts file)
x2goclient --broker-url="ssh://user@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/usr/bin/x2gobroker
--backend=inifile"

Hi Mike:
Thanks for the help...no joy yet, but some updates (in a separate email,
I'd like to circle back around on using SSL/SSH and the option of using
x2goplugin with SSL as an alternative short term):
1) I mis-wrote earlier - the server I'm using is Wheezy, and the client
Squeeze. Not sure that matters, but wanted to convey as such.
2) FYI, can go to server's webpage and get generic apache "It works!
This is the default web page for this server. The web server software is
running …
[View More]but no content has been added, yet.", so think apache is
running. SSH is running as well on the server.
3) Again FYI have been trying x2gobroker-wsgi (not x2gobroker-daemon)
4) When I try:
x2goclient --broker-url=http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/plain/inifile
I get an error window:
Login Failed! Please try again
When I try:
x2goclient --broker-url="ssh://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/usr/bin/x2gobroker
--backend=inifile"
I get:
sh: 1: /usr/bin/x2gobroker: not found
FYI: on the server, there isn't an x2gobroker in /usr/bin....there is
an x2gobroker script in /usr/sbin.
If I try:
x2goclient --broker-url="ssh://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/usr/sbin/x2gobroker
--backend=inifile"
I get an error window with a fair amount of info:

Hi All:
Am trying to get up to speed on x2go session broker, but am having
trouble. Any suggestions?
When try to connect I get:
Error
Login failed!
Please try again.
Along with...
broker url: http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/:8080/plain/inifilebroker
url:http://xxx.xxxx.xxx.xxx/:8080/plain/inifile
or....
broker url:http://user@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/cgi-bin/x2gobroker.cfgi
As I'm getting started, I'm trying to do this on my LAN (all behind my
firewall) without any ssh (longer term I want to see if I …
[View More]can run
sessions inside SSL). I've disabled all the iptable rules on my
server....and tried various settings in the x2gobroker.conf and
x2gobroker-sessionprofiles.conf files which have not really changed the
error message but may be the problem (see below).
I can connect using the x2go client GUI "the normal way", and the first
time I got a window on the client "The server is unknown. Do you trust
the host key....", which I assume is x2go dynamically creating a ssh
tunnel? This part works fine.
However, when I try from the command line with an "x2goclient
--broker-..." type of command, I get the Error message.
Both client and server are running Debian Squeeze, and on the server
I've successively installed:
x2gobroker-wsgi
apache2
libapache20mod-wsgi
x2gobroker-authservice (wasn't sure if I should install this for my
initial tests)

# X2Go Broker Agent query mode
#
# The X2Go Broker Agent is needed for multi-server sites configured for
# load balancing. Multi-server sites require a setup that uses the
# PostgreSQL X2Go session DB backend. The X2Go Broker Agent has to be
installed
# on the local system (mode: LOCAL) or on all X2Go Servers (mode: SSH) in a
# multi-server farm.
#
# So, there are three query modes for the X2GO Broker Agent: NONE, LOCAL and
# SSH.
#
# NONE - Try to get along without X2Go Broker Agent queries. For simple
# broker setups this may suffice. For load-balancing or reliable
# session suspending and resuming the broker agent is a must!!!
#
# LOCAL - This LOCAL mode only works for _one_ configured
multi-server farm.
# If this X2Go Session Broker is supposed to serve many different
# multi-server farms, then the LOCAL mode will not work!!!
#
# How it works: Assume that the local system has an X2Go
Broker Agent
# that knows about the multi-server setup. This means: X2Go
Server
# has to be installed locally and the X2Go Server has to be
# configured to use the multi-server farm's PostgreSQL session DB
# backend.
#
# The local system that is running the broker does not
necessarily
# have to be a real application server. It only has to be
aware of
# running/suspended sessions within the X2Go multi-server
farm setup.
#
# A typical use-case is X2Go on top of a Debian Edu
Terminal-Server
# farm:
#
# TJENER -> PostgreSQL DB, X2Go Server, X2Go Session Broker +
# Broker Agent
# TS01 - TS0X -> X2Go Server configured to use the
PostgreSQL DB
# on TJENER
#
# SSH - The more generic approach, but also more complex. It allows
that
# the broker on this system may serve for many different X2Go
Server
# multi-server setups.
#
# With the SSH agent query mode, the X2Go Session Broker will
query
# one of the X2Go Servers in the targeted multi-server setup
(through
# SSH). The SSH authentication is done by a system user account
# (normally UID=x2gobroker) and SSH pub/priv key
authentication has
# to be configured to make this work.
#
# All X2Go Servers in a multi-server farm need the X2Go
Broker Agent
# installed, whereas this local system running the X2Go Session
# Broker does not need a local X2Go Broker Agent at all.
#
# The agent query mode can be configured on a per-broker-backend basis, the
# below value is the default.
#default-agent-query-mode=LOCAL

### X2Go Broker Session Profiles - ADAPT TO YOUR NEEDS ###
# This whole file reflects a set of examplary X2Go session profiles being
# provided via the X2Go Session Broker (backend: iniconf).
# This whole file could be the broker setup in some university institute
that
# runs three server pools (pool-A, pool-B and pool-C). Though most
univerities
# have real IPv4 internet addresses, we use private subnets in the examples
# below.
# The X2Go Session Broker is served into the institutes local intranet, the
# broker cannot be reached from the internet directly.
# The first section [DEFAULTS] provides a set of default profile
settings that
# are common to all session profiles given in sections below.
# The other section names can be freely chosen, however, each section
name has
# to be unique within this file.
# IMPORTANT: in the session profiles below you will find some lines starting
# with acl-... These lines do neither protect the X2Go Session Broker nor
# your X2Go Servers. They simply allow for selective session profile
provision
# based on client address, user name and group memberships.
#
# For protecting the broker use iptables and ip6tables. For protecting your
# X2Go Servers use iptable+ip6tables and a tightened PAM configuration (e.g.
# pam_access.so). Securing X2Go Servers means securing the SSH daemon that
# runs on the X2Go Server.

Hi,
I am using X2go broker with SSH proxy to have X2go servers sit behind
the broker not directly reachable from the internet. Like this, I need
Users have access to ports 443 (usually not a problem) and SSH (very
often a problem). Problem is that users tend to sit behind transparent
http/https proxies, so SSH won't get out. I would like to see
everything being done through HTTPs so we can trick proxies.
Is this going to be implemented in the …

already possible somehow?
cheers

Hi all,
I have weird sound issues with pyhoca-cli and need a hint, where to look :)
Scenario: debian wheezy (uptodate) client with KDE running conncts to a
debian wheezy (also uptodate) server with KDE.
Following versions:
root@client: ~ # dpkg -l | egrep 'x2go|pyhoca'

ii x2goclient

If I try to connect from client (within a fresh KDE session) to server
with the following command, I don't have any sound in this x2gosession:
pyhoca-cli --server $SERVER --new --command startkde --username $USR
--sound pulse --geometry 1440x900 --link adsl --pack 16m-png-9
--kbd-layout de --kbd-type '105/de'
Now I connect to the server (or another x2goserver, that doesn't matter)
with x2goclient and there is sound. When I then connect again with above
pyhoca-cli command, I have sound in this session.
When I restart the local KDE Desktop on the client, I don't have any
sound with pyhoca, until I connect with x2goclient ...
I think, there is some process/program, that pyhoca-cli is not able to
start, until x2goclient will start it, but I can't find it ...
Help appreciatet :)
So long,
Tim
