Heads-Up: Upcoming X2GoClient 4.1.0.0 Release / Sponsorship of X2Go macOS Client Development

Hi everyone, a few days ago, Mihai (ionic) posted a call for translations to <x2go-i18n(a)lists.x2go.org>, in which he mentioned that he intends to have X2GoClient 4.1.0.0 release-ready around 2017-02-09. Key new features/bugfixes of this upcoming release are: - PulseAudio Support on macOS - updated SSHD handling for the client-side SSHD required for file and print sharing - fix for the "key error" messages also relating to SSHD that may have kept file and print sharing from working, esp. on Windows A full list of features and bugfixes will be published by Mihai once the official release takes place. This message is so you can plan ahead and find a spot in your personal schedule where you might want to download, test, and deploy the new client. I would also like to use this opportunity to introduce a new sponsor, CFD.direct. CFD Direct <http://cfd.direct> are the primary developers of OpenFOAM <http://openfoam.org>, the free, open source software for computational fluid dynamics. We received 1000 EUR from them as an initial payment, along with a statement that they intend to fund the project annually with a fixed percentage of their cloud revenue. Our plan is to use this money to rent a virtual macOS system running a current version of macOS, and add this as a Jenkins slave to our current build infrastructure. That way, creating new X2GoClient builds for macOS will be a lot easier (automated, nightly builds etc.). Due to personal vacation time, this will probably not happen before early April 2017, though with a little bit of luck we can start as early as Mid-February. Long story short: Especially if you're a macOS user, please give X2GoClient 4.1.0.0 a try once it's officially released, and report back any bugs with it on our bugtracker. Checking via "rpm -v --checksign" on the build server reveals: pwgen-2.06-90.3.x86_64.rpm: Header V4 RSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 9c6b0b2b: OK Header SHA1 digest: OK (693079e6da9cde1e9e5418c8a90d47ca4b89cf3a) V4 RSA/SHA1 Signature, key ID 9c6b0b2b: OK MD5 digest: OK (c680b2bf2f22c0f8e4e29a81efb326dc) I suspect (also from other resources I found on the net), that SLE 11.3 does not support V4 signatures, though. I have thus resigned only the pwgen package for now. Can you please retry installing x2goserver? It will definitely fail at some package again, but I want to see if pwgen now looks clean to your rpm binary (i.e., if it doesn't complain about it any longer.) If switching to V3 signatures with the SHA256 hash algorithm, I'll resign all packages on 11.3 and 11.2. Side note: please remember to include 1111(a)bugs.x2go.org when you're replying, so that your answer makes it into the bugreport. Mihai

Dear all, I am happy to announce a new addition to the X2Go package archive. From now on we are providing automatically-built Raspbian packages for armhf[1]. Currently only Raspbian Jessie is supported. We hope this makes our package archive more useful.
