I just gave it a quick try and it does not look too bad: https://www.transifex.net/projects/p/x2go/ The only disadvantage is, that the server is a bit slow, but translating 50 strings probably takes significantly longer... And if you want to use your local tools you can just download the file and upload it after translating - still simpler then messing with git.... ;)

I somewhat disagree here. I think it is more reasonable to set up http://www.transifex.org/ than having to support people setting up Git, pulling the data of the ML, adding it to git, pushing it, telling them to fetch and checkout (not pull or rebase!), etc. And even if transifex changes there terms of service, I can not think of an scenario that does us real harm.
