Fullscreen mode and switching applications

Dear all, I installed X2Go client for windows V 3.00-1. When opening a session in fullscreen mode it's not possible to switch to any other windows application by pressing [Alt]-[Tab]. Pressing this combination presents the Window Taskswitch Dialog but selecting another application is doing nothing. The X2Go Session stays in the foreground. Is there any other possiblity to switch the active window? Best regards, Alexander Kuchler

Problem with GTK client

Hello list, I have a problem with the GTK client on one of my machines, the KDE client works fine. And the GTK client did work fine before. When I start a connection with the GTK client the session is not visible. I see no session. But there is a session started. Reinstalling the client (using "--purge"), does not help. Removing the configuration in gconf does not help. This is what I did: gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/x2goclient Killing the sessions with the KDE-client or with a GTK-client from another machine does not help. Hello mailinglist members, I don't know why but some time ago this mailinglist stopped delivering mails to my account. I've added me again to the list so now I can answer your questions and tell you about the future of x2go. Of cause we are interested in helping english speaking x2go users - somehow they mainly have choosen this mailing list. Please keep on using this list if you prefer mailing lists instead of a forum (I really like mailing lists too). If anybody is visiting Linuxtag in Berlin this month: we'll share a booth with skolelinux, olpc and linux4afrika. A recent topic of the mailing list was the possibility to use x2goclient on OpenSuSE. Alex has made an tar.gz to compile x2goclient (GTK Version) on openSuSE11: http://www.x2go.org/opensuse11/ This should help you to compile x2goclient for openSuSE. A further topic was using x2go on ubuntu * : We've tried to get all wishes of the ubuntu community into a speciallized version, which did not contain any qt or kde dependency and was using the unpatched versions of the nx libraries. This version (available on launchpad) could be installed without any configuration, but it was not possible to use the multiserver/ldap features. We've stopped to develop this special version, but our lenny packages are compatible with ubuntu 9.04. So please use the actual lenny repository, import the database and add your user to the group "x2gousers" - this should work and you'll have all new client features. I'll keep on reading the archive of this group and answer further questions. This will be released soon and will contain further features like rdp tunneling (configuration inside x2goclient), desktop icon generation assistant and lxde support. There will also be a new installation option called "x2goserver-one (One Node Edition". This option will be released as metapackage, which will be configuring x2goserver automatically. In this option SQLight instead of Postgresql will be used. So please be patient, we'll try to release the new version soon! kernel panic

hello, we try install thin client (pxe) with the docu http://www.linux4africa.de/x2go/ kernel is loaded, but after ti comes: kernel panic not syncing : VFS unable to mount root fs unknown block (...) when we try to mount it from a separate machine, running a linux machine, it hangs who can help? paul & michel

Keyboard problem

Hello, I have this problem: http://www.nomachine.com/tr/view.php?id=TR11F02131 In short: some keys are incorrectly mapped (like arrow up) and others don't work (like arrow left). My client and server are both Debian Lenny (I am connecting to localhost at the moment). I need the evdev driver for keyboards en mouses. Not sure if Lenny uses this driver by default (the default is an empty xorg.conf). Nomachine says the problem is gone in nxnode 3.3.0-11, but so far I see x2go uses nxnode version 3.3.0-3. This is also interesting information about this item: https://bugs.launchpad.net/freenx-server/+bug/289918 On my machine I run both FreeNX and X2go. I am not 100% sure this is no problem. Wrong resolution in x2gosession

Hello, I have installed x2goserver and client on the same machine (Debian Lenny). When I connect fullscreen with x2goclient to localhost, as the same user, I see that the fonts and the windows are smaller then in a normal session. I found this article about this problem: http://www.nomachine.com/ar/view.php?ar_id=AR04C00198 And this seems to be true. In the x2go session I see 75x75 dots per inch, and in my normal session I see 96x96 dots per inch. I used "xdpyinfo | grep resolution" to get this info. In the article they have a link to a solution, they say to use a variable: DEFAULT_X_DPI = "96". But I don't know how to use that in X2go. Bug in x2golistsessions with z-shell

Hello together. I stumbled over a bug concerning the resume of sessions with users that have 'zsh' as their default shell. The problem is the following: Somewhere during the resume something like 'export HOSTNAME && x2golistsessions' is executed. In 'bash' 'export HOSTNAME' sets the environment variable to the current hostname. In 'zsh' (and probably other shells, too) this fails leaving an empty HOSTNAME envirtonment variable. I suggest to change the perl script x2golistsessions to the following: #!/usr/bin/perl use strict; use Sys::Hostname; # <-- New line ... my $serv=shift; if( ! $serv) { #$serv=$ENV{'HOSTNAME'}; # delete this $serv = hostname; # <-- New line } ... This is probably much more robust and works fine here. Ralf P.S.
