The builds have been taken prior to the release from some version in Git, that we now cannot reference anymore. Such a way of distributing X2Go Client creates problems concerning compliance with the GPL. For each binary build of X2Go Client we have to be able to make a reference (easily) to the source code used for building X2Go Client. With the Windows builds of X2Go Client, the current situation does not match GPL, we have to improve that!!! My suggestion for a more versatile workflow of providing X2Go Client builds for Windows is this... Preview build of X2Go Client: (a) provide preview builds that have the Git commit hash in its file name, normally it is sufficient to give the first 7 digits of the Git commit hash. If 7 digits is not enough for an unequivocal match, one has to use more than 7 digits... Use »git log <7-digits-of-hash>« to see if the abbreviated commit hash is long enough. (b) create checksums+signature (md5, sha1, GnuPG) for the preview build (use [2] to do this). (c) upload the built .exe file and the signature/checksums to code.x2go.org Stable releases of X2Go Client: (a) on source tarball release, build X2Go Client against that tarball (b) create checksums+signature for that (again using [2]) (c) upload the stable build of X2Go Client to code.x2go.org (d) release all preview builds for that version, including their checksums/signatures [1] http://code.x2go.org/releases/source/x2goclient [2] http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=buildscripts.git;a=blob;f=bin/signtarballs Requesting comment / feedback on this!!! It may also be an idea to delegate the X2Go Client builds on Windows to someone else in the project, to take that bit of workload off of you. But for that, it would need a howto on the wiki that explains the way X2Go Client has to be built+assembled on Windows. x2go keybindings / toggle key

Hi, I would like to get the following functionality from X2go. I would like to use a key press to toggle between the 'keyboard focus'. I would press a key on the keyboard and the focus would toggle between the client and the server. That way I could keep the keybindings the same for both machines. For example: I use i3wm on both machines. Windows key + fn key switches workspaces on both machines. I would like to press a key to toggle the focus between the client and server desktop. So maybe I would press " ` " and it would set the focus to the server and then all my subsequent key presses would affect the server desktop. When I want to return to my client desktop I would press " ` " and it would set the focus to the client. I could change the keybindings for my window manager iteslf. In fact I may go this route if there is no solution for x2go. However I thought it might be easier to have a focus mechanisim in x2go. Is this already a feature of x2go? If so how do I implement it. Maybe I could write something for the wiki. If not, would it be difficult to enable such functionality?

testing x2gobroker Python module

Hi Otto, on IRC you asked how to test the python-x2gobroker module: o enter the base folder of the x2gobroker.git project o run ./test.py And: be aware of this Debian bug [1]. You need to apply the patch provided in that bug to one file in the python-paste package manually to make the tests work. Bug#110: No buttons in KDE netbook theme

Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.0.1 I'm running on a netbook with KDE's Air for Netbooks theme. In this mode most window decorations are removed. The screen size is small too at 1024x600. When the session properties window is show, no Ok button is visible. See attached. I can get the buttons to appear by starting the session properties window and *then* hiding the panel. But if the panel is hidden when the settings window is open, the buttons are not there either. Bug#109: x2goclient crash after selecting external X server

Package: x2goclient Setup: x2goclient on Win7 Issue: When testing with an external VcXsrv installation, x2goclient reports an error when opening it and close preventing to access the settings and revert to the internal server. We had to edit the registry to overcome the problem.
