Bug#1089: x2go Ubuntu 16.04 and Fedora 24

Package: x2server Version: 4.0.1.19-11.fc24 and 4.0.1.19-0~ubuntu16.04.1 The version of xrandr built into the x2go server is 1.2, but both Ubuntu 16.04.1 and Fedora 24 require 1.3 at least. When I connect with full display, this causes me to get a 600x800 window in the full display instead of the full display because the resize fails on the server. My current work around on both Ubuntu 16.04.1 and Fedora 24 is to bring up a terminal and type "xrandr -s 1680x1050". This works as the command line version is 1.5. Hi Andrew, Sorry for the long delay. I ran a test with X2Go Client 4.0.5.1, and the connection was successful. This is the output from the command-line ssh: $ ssh 192.168.1.20 Test banner! Password: Last login: Sat Sep 17 09:43:55 2016 [mike@dropship ~]$ Note that the banner is configured with "Banner /etc/issue.net" in sshd_config. Also note that there has been restructuring of our code, both before and after 4.0.5.1's release, to improve our handling of keyboard-interactive authentication. Specifically, commits 10405481 & c5ee1ba6 (2016-01-29, before 4.0.5.1) and 044f22fd (2016-06-19, after 4.0.5.1, part of bug #1027). If you are still having trouble, please copy & paste the output from the command-line ssh. If you have Windows clients, use cygwin ssh. Also, please confirm that you are using "Banner /etc/issue.net" in order to display the banner. -Mike

Bug#1084: found a much better workaround

I noticed that X2Go Client ships an old version of VcXsrv, according to the details of %programfiles%\x2goclient\VcXsrv\vcxsrv.exe it is version 1.17.0.0 I downloaded the most recent version (1.18.3.0) from: https://sourceforge.net/projects/vcxsrv/files/vcxsrv and installed it on Windows 7. Then I reconfigured X2Go client: X2Go Client -- Options -- Settings... -- X.Org Server settings: |x| use custom X-Server The default values of: executable: C:\program files\vcxsrv\vcxsrv.exe command line options: -multiwindow -notrayicon -clipboard worked out just fine for me with nmrDraw. For reference: In case you misconfigure X2Go Client X.Org server and the message window: x2goclient --- Can't start X.Org Server. Please check your installation. [OK] prevents you from changing the settings, revert them using 'regedit'. In the path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Obviously Nice\x2goclient\settings set "useintx"="true" -- Kind regards, René

Bug#1028: Seeing similar on 4.0.5.1

Hi all New here and trying to move away from NoMachine 3. I have a Sun Workstation with nVidia Quadro card running OpenSuse 11 and NoMachine 3 (free) and using the latest player and this all works fine. But I now need to move to a virtual server (no graphics hardware) and while NoMachine works OK there are issues with colours on session restart and performance. I want to use X2Go but there are issues especially with resuming sessions. My client is a Win 7 (32 bit) laptop that can have different screen setups 1)On own with a wide small screen 2)At "home" using laptop screen and a 1280x1024 external - monitor wanted is number 2 3)At "work" using a 1280x1024 and a second wide screen monitor - monitor wanted in number 1 If present I want the X session to go full screen on the 1280x1024, else full screen on the laptop. The NoMachine client does this very well so at "home" and "work" the session always goes to the 1280x1024 fullscreen without intervention from me. Using X2Go I can start the session first time OK and I can set it to the 1280x1024 monitor. I haven't been to the "work" location to see if it will work properly there. But on attempting to resume the client opens a small window and then VcXsrv crashes. I tried the pyhoca-gui and this does resume OK but the full screen fills both monitors and I can't find a way to limit to the 1280x1024. And the mouse wheel doesn't switch between virtual screens. X2Go session when working looks much better than NoMachines but the resume needs to work. I sometimes work remotely and if the VPN link drops I need to be able to resume the session when I reconnect. NoMachine does this job really well. I don't need this to be automatic but I need the function. Bug#1088: Debian Repository - wrong key

Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.5.1 The Repository for Debian Jessie on <http://packages.x2go.org/> is signed with a key F4A7678C9C6B0B2B. But documentation on <http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:repositories:debian> says to install key E1F958385BFE2B6E. Bug#1087: X2goclient crashes after start on Windows 7 and XP

Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.5.1-2016.08.18 Hello. X2goclient on Windows 7 and Windows XP crashes after trying to establish session . Steps to reproduce the error: 1. Install X2goclient (no errors). 2. Launch X2goclient.(no errors). 3. Create a new session with default settings (no errors). 4. Try to launch new session. After some time X2goclient crashes with the following error: AppName: x2goclient.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: x2goclient.exe ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0076072d This error has never occured in version 4.0.5.0-2015.07.31. Thanks.

Bug#1085: VcXsrv crash after CTRL ALT f

Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.5.1 I consistently get a VcXsrv crash when using the CTRL ALT f key combination to (try to) move from non-fullscreen mode to full-screen mode; screenshot attached. The text (which is in Danish) reads: VcXsrv windows xserver (X2Go/Arctica Builds) has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop functioning properly. Close the program. I have tried copying in the latest VcXsrv binaries from http://vcxsrv.sourceforge.net/ to X2go's directory, but that doesn't help. Client OS: Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64 bit. The issue has consistently been reproduced on both a physical and an KVM-virtualized Windows client. Hi Uli, I downgraded all packages to the status at release date of Fedora 24 to no avail. Packages have been updated again. I filed a bug report at RedHat Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1375194 Hi Orion, I saw that bug report and to me it looked too different, so I ignored it. In hindsight that was a mistake. I am sorry for wasting everyones time. The workaround works for me.
