Bug#1474: keyboard and mouse stop working after a few minutes of inactivity

Package: x2goserver Version: 4.1.0.3-5 Ubuntu server 20.04 lts with xubuntu-desktop, installed on actual hardware, not a vm. No physical keyboard or mouse connected. After a while of inactivitiy (neither keyboard nor mouse are being used for a few minutes), the keyboard and mouse controls are lost. The session itself does not freeze: Windows with constantly updating contents or panel plugins still work. Resizing the x2go client window correctly resizes the remote xfce desktop. It's just like the keyboard and mouse are being disconnected somehow. It does not matter, if the x2go client (ms windows) stays connected or if I disnonnect and reconnect the client after a few minutes to resume the session: Keyboard and mouse even get lost during my "absence". The problem seems to be independent of the client. A new session suffers the same fate after a few minutes of inactivity. I disabled the screensaver and session locking in xfce settings. There's nothing I'm aware of happening in xfce that could act as a trigger for the keyborad and mouse loss. I searched the logs but did not manage to find any errors. Any ideas on where to look or what to try next? BTW: The same machine works perfectly fine with 18.04 lts, xubuntu-desktop and x2goserver.

Windows nightly crashes

Bug#1473: Cinnamon icon is loaded as a cog not the official Cinnamon logo

Package: x2goclient Version: 4.1.2.3 Severity: wishlist Tag: patch When the original code to load the Cinnamon icon was implemented it appears there wasn't an official icon. There is now. There is no error message as the code works as is but an incorrect icon is used for Cinnamon. This patch replaces the cog icon and removes the comment explaining why it was used. Cheers Dave

X2Go Client connection issue (Socket error)

Hi X2go devs, Package: x2goclient Version: 4.1.2.2 (Linux Mint based on Ubuntu Bionic, using PPA) I often get an error message when I try to connect to my Debian buster docker image, running x2goserver and XFCE, via the X2Go Client on my host machine. It will give the following error message (when using the --debug flag on the x2goclient): x2go-DEBUG-../src/sshmasterconnection.cpp:2071> "ssh_channel_open_session failed": "Socket error: No such file or directory" x2go-DEBUG-../src/sshprocess.cpp:478> I/O error: "ssh_channel_open_session failed."" - Socket error: No such file or directory" (0). I created a detailed video, I posted it on YouTube, please take a look at the video: https://youtu.be/LAlLtBNTIUo Logging details, reproducibility and more is explained in the video itself. You'll notice that I can sometimes connect to the XFCE session and sometimes I can't. Although connecting via the ssh cli command is always working without any issues. Meaning there is really some kind of bug in the X2Go Client. I'm afraid. Again, I really hope somebody could help me in finding the root-cause and fixing the issue. Since I really love X2Go. And I would like to use this tool in production. I'm also a software developer so maybe I can help debugging the problem. Bug#1451: Issue with some GUI elements not being drawn

In some instances (dropdown menu) it is still navigable and submenus will (sometimes) be drawn. Other instances like pop-up menus are not accessible if not drawn. Checking application logs, it appears the window was successfully launched but the X server isn't drawing it? Not sure, any insight would be appreciated. Package: x2goserver Version: 4.1.0.3-0~1708~ubuntu16.04.1 Severity: wishlist Hello all, we are using x2go to run a single application on remote server, and we want to lock all other access as much as possible. Essentially, we'd like to ensure that even if the user connects via SSH, he could start only one (or limited set) of applications. I found this guide https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:security:rbash but it seems to be somewhat outdated. I followed the instructions, created the wrapper command, set up the symlinks, and configured ssh, but then I get this error: Connection failed. rbash: bash: command not found Apparently x2go client is trying to execute "bash /usr/bin/x2goruncommand" instead of just "x2goruncommand". If I add bash to the path with allowed commands, it starts working. But it makes the whole use of rbash pointless. Also it allows me to run anything via x2go anyway - as x2goruncommand is a bash script, it escapes the restrictions of rbash. Is it possible to update that wiki page with current requirements - what commands are necessary in $PATH for restricted shell ? I found that at least nxagent should be there too. And to modify the login sequence so that bash is not needed in $PATH ? BTW is that defined on server or client? Where exactly? I also found a nice feature "published applications" https://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/wiki:advanced:published-applications It would be nice, if the x2go server had a config option, allowing users to run only the "published applications", or use some other list of allowed commands. So far my attempts at limiting the access to other applications was not very successful. There's a lot of stuff needed internally by x2go, so I cannot just remove execute bit from many commands in (/usr)/bin/ Thanks for any advice or hotfix. Best Regards Vladislav Kurz
