Package: vcxsrv Version: 1.17 With the latest x2go Windows client (4.0.4.0), the embedded X server (vcxsrv 1.17) does not support the -noprimaryclipboard option that is available through the preferences in the x2go client gui. The primaryclipboard behaviour is very annoying with Windows so disabling it is a good idea except that it can't be done with latest release, when running, I get a debug windows stating clearly that this parameter is not supported. Start up finishes but the panel in either KDE or LXDE is not shown. I press Alt+F2 to open the 'Run' application and start xterm. I run 'xrandr -s 1280x720', the x2go/X11 window size changes OK and the menu in either KDE or LXDE shows up automatically. I saw that someone had ran into this bug in 2012: http://readlist.com/lists/gentoo.org/gentoo-user/33/169010.html but there was just a temporary resolution to the problem.

Package: x2goserver Version: 4.0.1.19-8.fc24 When attempting to login with a client desktop session that uses dbus while logged in as the same user on the console causes an error to appear in a pop up window: Could not acquire name on session bus You can dismiss the error but the desktop never full starts and attempts to logout triggers the logout on the console session. >From the error, I this appears to be resolved by using a custom session script in x2go and making sure to call: unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS For example: #!/bin/sh unset DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS # redirect to /dev/null due to x2go bug 914 /usr/bin/mate-session > /dev/null Doing some digging, it looks like the dbus socket (/usr/lib/systemd/user/dbus.socket) on fedora 24 (dbus-1.11.2-1.fc24.x86_64) does this: ExecStartPost=-/usr/bin/systemctl --user set-environment DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS=unix:path=%t/bus And sets the DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS for all logins for your user. This same workaround appears to be what tigervnc used as their permanent solution: https://github.com/TigerVNC/tigervnc/commit/c071e493a093d7ee9a568729dd2e151… So I think this is the proper solution. Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.1.0 Severity: minor On Macs where sshd (system preferences -> sharing -> remote login) hasn't ever been enabled, there does not exist any ssh host key. X2goclient looks for this key (/etc/ssh_host_rsa_key.pub) and if it does not find it, it opens a dialog box, complaining that sshd isn't running and that filesharing and local printing won't work. This despite the session given by x2gobroker has these features disabled. This platform is used by the Raspberry PI. The new Raspberry PI 3 has a quad-core cpu and runs at 1,2 GHz. This should be good enough for an x2goclient. I did compile the source code once, but I do not want do to that all the time. I did however find an x2goclient 4.0.5.0-1 on the internet compiled for ARMHF. This client was compiled for Debian SID and not for Debian Jessie. So I installed the package manualy. Providing an image is almost like shipping a binary blob, and the SDcard is an 8 GB model, I think. Even compressed, that wastes a lot of server space. Also, the startup sequence I used was a bit hackish - X is running as root and starts up xmessage as a primitive menu, with one option then starting X2GoClient with the command line parameters for TCE mode. So it's not recommended for production use. Bug#968: x2go runs "bash -c bash -c ..." on session create, causing dot bashrc issues

Package: x2goserver Version: 4.0.1.19 When establishing a new x2go session, I noticed that my .bashrc file is read/sourced/executed many times, in the end screwing up my PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH settings (amongst others). I was surprised, because .bashrc is only supposed to be read when opening an interactive shell, and I am not expecting x2go to run interactive shells here. I did some debugging by placing the following at the start of my .bashrc: echo "bashrc" >> ~/slog ps -fea | grep boekhold >> ~/slog and based on this I can see x2go constantly running commands like: bash -c bash -c 'echo "X2GODATABEGIN:60b25f89-31db-46ec-8a7c-c93002fbfa50"; export PATH="/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin"; export HOSTNAME && x2golist still at first glance no reason for bash to process .bashrc. See there? Running "bash -c bash -c" suddenly tricks bash into reading the .bashrc file. No idea how, but it happens. This is on Linux Mint 17.2, but I'm experiencing the same issue on a Centos 7 system with the x2go EPEL packages. Client is x2goclient on Windows 7 Professional SP1. I can't figure out where that "bash -c bash -c" command is being generated, hope that somebody from the X2Go team can provide some guidance here? Maarten

Bug#751: new DebBugs scripts: mbox / cleanbug

Hi all, last night, I created to new scripts for the debbugs software underneath bugs.x2go.org. Both scripts are attached and can be found under /usr/lib/debbugs on host ymir.das-netzwerkteam.de. Especially the cleanbug script should be of interested here. I recently received various abuse notifications from my provider and they all relate to X2GO bugs containing mails with virus attachments. These need to be cleaned. I already did so for the reported URLs: http://bugs.x2go.org/128 http://bugs.x2go.org/232 http://bugs.x2go.org/496 http://bugs.x2go.org/765 But there are more... Please coordinate in the X2Go core team, who will work on cleaning up the X2Go bugtracker. Currently, these people have access: Heinz Mihai Mike You have to log into ymir.das-netzwerkteam.de (aka bugs.x2go.org) as user locadm and become root via sudo. The cleanbug script itself is easy to handle: # /usr/lib/debbugs/cleanbug <bugno> Once you triggered the script, you have to look at bug posts on the selected bug and say yes and no. At the end you get asked, if you really want to write back the changes to the bug. The answer's question defaults to "no". You should create some back before manipulating existing bugs. For this, create copies of <bugno>.log in /var/lib/debbugs/spool/db-h/ Note for archived bugs: for cleaning up archived bugs, you have to unarchive them first. Question about x2goclient xinerama

Hello, while testing my xinerama re-implementation I noticed that x2goclient reports a wrong width sometimes when simply moving the window without changing the size. The reported size differs by one pixel (too much or too little). Interestingly my patched x2goagent (that completely ignores xinerama.conf) sees that value. So I conclude that x2goclient is manipulating the nxproxy window size by one pixel itself. Disabling xinerama in the session's configuration fixes the problem.
