Question about VERSION file in NXCOMP

Hi al, I have a question about the VERSION file that you use in the nxcomp directory, it seems to be fixed at 3.5.0. Is there any reason not to update this? Have you found any issues? I know there is negotiation about the minor and major versions in between the client, but the patch version doesn´t seem to be affected. This is basically to be able to track errors and be able to match them up with the commits, Please let me know if this makes sense, Regards, Nito

Bug#602: X2GoSession clobbers .ssh/known_hosts when add_to_known_hosts is set

Package: python-x2go Version: 0.4.0.9 Whenever a host key is registered using pyhoca-cli or pyhoca-gui, the $HOME/.ssh/known_hosts file gets clobbered: all keys whose type is not either ssh-dss or ssh-rsa (namely, ECDSA and Ed25519 host keys) are removed. Steps to reproduce: 1. register some ECDSA/Ed25519 host keys 2. backup .ssh/known_hosts 3. define a new profile in pyhoca-gui selecting "Store SSH host keys under (unique) X2Go session profile ID" 4. connect to the host and accept the host key 5. run a diff between the old known_hosts file and the current .ssh/known_hosts file Expected behaviour: there should _only_ be an addition for the new ssh host key registered by python-x2go and no other modification Actual result: there is an addition for the new host key registered by python-x2go and removals for all ecdsa and ed25519 host keys I suspect this is a problem with paramiko not understanding ECDSA and Ed25519 keys in known_hosts and summarily discarding them, nevertheless I'm raising the bug here because the x2go PPA for Ubuntu ships a custom version of paramiko for precise (also because it should probably be noted in the release notes and/or worked around in python-x2go if possible). Bug#612: x2goclient does not honor export from broker

Package: x2goclient Version: 4.0.2.1 Severity: major Hi, it seems x2goclient does not load export (local folder sharing) from broker. Direct connect with local session profile is ok. My x2gobroker_sessionprofiles.conf contains export directory and disable printing, however, when using x2goclient with broker, it still forwards spooling directory & does not mount exported directory. If i create a session profile in client workstation, and use x2goclient directly, printing can be disabled and local directory can be forwarded. Look at the source code, file onmainwindow.cpp, method exportDefaultDirs load X2goSettings directly without consult config.iniFile. I have attached here a patch that modifies exportDefaultDirs() to use config.iniFile incase x2goclient using broker mode. The patch works with x2goclient linux. I am not familiar with compiling x2goclient in Windows env, therefore I am unable to test with x2goclient in Windows. Any comments? Thank you very much for such a wonderful project. Regards, msongd.

X2Go-WinBuilder VM disk space issue

Hi Mike#1 and others, A few hours ago, the D: drive of the X2Go-WinBuilder VM had about 3GB of space free. I was installing mingw 4.8 on it (about 1GB), and was trying to clear up space, when all of a sudden it ran out of space. I am not sure why. Don't be surprised if nightly/jekins Windows builds fail for now. The builds take place on D:. I will try to clean up space when I get home at the end of today. I will use WinDirStat to find the disk usage. Also, Mike#1, if you could increase the size of virtual hard disk for drive D: that would be much appreciated. Once you do, I can go into Windows disk management and extend the NTFS partition & filesystem to use the new space. You have my permission to shutdown the VM to do this. -Mike

How should the new desktop environments be listed in X2Go Client?

Hi devs (and users), For X2Go Client (4.0.3.0): Bug #571 is to add Cinnamon Bug #607 is to add Openbox Bug #608 is to add IceWM Bug #609 is to add Trinity 1st of all, should I list them in all caps like the others? UNITY for example is actually written as "Unity" on its project page, but we list it on all caps. 2nd, in what order should they be listed? The current list of desktop environment sessions in X2Go Client is: KDE GNOME LXDE XFCE MATE UNITY (other types of sessions) Mike already told me to add them below UNITY, which I agree with. There are 3 reasonable orders I can think of: 1. List them in alphabetical order: Cinnamon IceWM Openbox Trinity 2. List the full desktop environments before the window managers, list them in alphabetical order: Cinnamon Trinity IceWM Openbox 3. List them in descending order of popularity (this is just my educated guess on their popularity): Cinnamon Trinity Openbox IceWM -Mike#2

Mike#1 (or anyone else who can answer this), You linked me to this MATE commit as an example of how I should add Cinnamon support to x2goclient (bug #571): http://code.x2go.org/gitweb?p=x2goclient.git;a=commitdiff;h=468be3aa8d457ec… I thought that x2goclient merely specified a session type with a string like "MATE". So I do not understand the logic in ONMainWindow::runCommand() and SessionButton::slot_cmd_change( const QString& command ), where command is changed from "MATE" to "mate-session" and then back.
