[X2Go-User] desktop sharing: would like to share (groups of) windows

I'm a new user and trying to share a session on different 
machines/displays.

So, on the server I start a session, say DISPLAY=:50 from a client with 
a regular 1960x1280 screen. When I move to another machine/display, for 
instance using a 4K screen, I can share the desktop. I'm getting a 
1960x1280 desktop with the windows on :50.

That's not really what I want.

Instead, I would like to get all :50 windows -without- having a special 
window for the desktop. Ideally I would like to move the windows :50 
independently of the original session. Since, on the 4K screen, I prefer 
a different placement of windows. Ideally I would like to share a group 
of windows belonging to one part of the process-tree. Essentially this 
means that window positions should become client specific.

Is something like this possible at all?


Please note I'm not subscribed on this mailing list, I will watch the

P.S. desktop sharing leaves echoes of a moved window in the desktop, 
this is a bug I guess
