If "Connect to local desktop" doesn't do the trick for you, you could
start a minimal X session on your office computer that fires up
X2GoClient in fullscreen, then connects to 127.0.0.1 and provides you
with an XFCE Desktop.
That way, you could suspend that session and resume it from somewhere
else, and vice versa.
