Save yourself the trouble, running X2GoClient in debug mode provided
sufficient hints. The issue should now be fixed if you follow the
updated build instructions at

<https://github.com/LinuxHaus/live-build-x2go::feature/openbox> git repo.
Feel free to change
--apt-recommends true
to
--apt-recommends false
for a slightly smaller image.
When using this image, all hot-plugged USB media should appear under
~/media/rm/<name of media>/<partition>
