If you're already at the stage where the session starts, then you're
past the "tile" stage. The tiles are the white thingies with rounded
edges on the right of the X2GoClient window. You click one, then
either the login window appears asking you to enter a password, or,
assuming you provided sufficient authentication data, the session
starts immediately.

To change the settings of an existing tile, click the
downward-pointing triangle in the lower right corner of the tile.

As to why you are being told that you are in a desktop session, but
aren't seeing a remote desktop - it would be helpful to know which
desktop environment you picked when setting up the session.

Note that
a) not all desktop environments are compatible with X2Go in all their
versions - see http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/doc:de-compat for details,
and
b) the particular desktop environment needs to be installed on the
remote server for it to work - the X2Go packages have no dependency
against all available desktop environments.

It does, but if it exceeds the maximum message size, it will end up in
the deferred queue, where I or another list admin will have to approve
it manually.
