You don't have to exclusively use Konqueror and KMail because your using KDE. Chrome and Thunderbird integrates fine.
You will miss Dolphin :-)

Of course if you'r using Debian Stable(/OLD) then you are using KDE 4.4 and thus missing out on 2½ years of polish.
