I believe X2Go is simply pulseaudio to pulseaudio communication. You
may need to reconfigure some of your apps to use pulseaudio, e.g., we
told KDE notifications to use paplay to play sounds and Firefox to use
ESD (the pulse plugin was causing a hang in our particular desktop).
