Ad 2: As this is solely for testing, you do not want to make that

Hmm. Before you change that, try turning file and print sharing off
in your X2GoClient session configuration. We're using a reverse
connection for that, so who knows, it might be the reverse connection
failing that generates the error message.
Out of curiosity, what do you intend to use X2Go for? :-)
JPL would be a nice addition to our "Success Stories" web page. ;-)
