With the current (and all prior) version(s) it is compiled in  
statically (I think).

On Wednesday/Thursday I will put new code in Git (for Alex) that--if I  
remember it correctly--will contain a cmd line option for the  
background image. Once we have this, I will add some extra-code to the  
x2gothinclient package.
