Since the problems so far seem to be related to the client OS version,
I'm guessing that that server side components aren't the issue. I'll
try the new client version as soon as it's ready, if the problem
persists I'll give x2goagent a shot.

Just did that, PyHoca-GUI works on Windows 7 x64. I had some trouble
connecting initially, perhaps there were some leftover processes from
previous x2goclient tests, but the last 5 times I've succesfully
started/connected/resumed sessions. PyHoca uses a different color
depth than x2goclient, "dp17" vs "dp24", I couldn't resume old
x2gclient sessions because of that, otherwise they seem
interchangeable.
