The problem with some systems is that sometimes (my systems here) the
mountall script is called first, then networking. A customer has
observed the same as you did. The symlink is a nice workaround for that.

In the current x2goclient version (3.0.1.18) there is a problem with
the default sndport setting. If you choose to use pulseaudio's default
snd port then audio will fail. If you specifiy port 4713 explicitly,
then it will work.
This should be fixed with the next x2goclient version, which we plan
to upload to X2go Git on Tuesday night.
