Try to do this as another user. Do you have the same problems?
Try to do this with the KDE client. Do you have the same problems?
I have also problems with the GTK client as one user. Other users work
fine, KDE client works fine.

The GTK client puts it data in gconf so far I know. I have tried this:
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/x2goclient
This removes the data.
Check the data with "gconf-editor" (as the normal user).
The KDE client uses ~/.x2goclient .
I found interesting information in ~/.xsession-errors.
